Bus travellers to Johor can use QR codes to clear immigration in Woodlands, Tuas checkpoints trial

SINGAPORE – Bus travellers will be able to use QR codes to enter and exit Singapore’s two land checkpoints during a trial starting end-November, said Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) on Nov 21.

The trial will begin from Nov 23 for those travelling through Tuas and the Second Link, and from Nov 28 for travellers using the Woodlands Checkpoint and the Causeway.
So this QR Code way means no need to take passport out of pocket.

Still use the same Auto Gates but instead of scanning passport, your QR Code gets scanned instead...the rest is SOP.

I think & hope so ...

For Maybank is there a requirement to liase with MY's Maybank to start using in MY?

I understand CIMB has such a need.

Thanks.

i think the early issues were due to the temp atm pin letter not arriving. so have to go down to the bank to physically get a temp atm pin to set your atm pin, because that was my issue.

subsequent new accounts didn't have the missing letter issue. so didn't have to go down to the bank anymore

i think got someone mention they recently opened an account and didn't had any issues, or had issues, can't remember

yes, so for individual, mabbe will only save 3-4sec ... but for groups, eg a family of 4, instead of scanning 4 passports, just scan 1 QR, so save abit more time....
thing is, I find that the 2nd gate with the facial scan is the one that sometimes have many issues.....

anyway, still good lah if overall speed up

Ya , scan QR instead of passport but still got to have the latter with us at all times. I prepared the code back when they opened to cars. 🤞

Nowadays, they no longer take passport and want identity cards
Might have something to do with us having to update passport number with them.

But telcos are still asking foreigners for passport.

Yes, it's in the opening Malaysian bank account thread.

AEON Bukit Indah

CIMB and RHB ATM machines are both outside Pos Laju, with ManjaLink dispensing machine facing them. Machine has the 3 new cards available @RM30.80 each, scan with phone camera or QR code scanner to pay via TnG. Cannot scan with TnG scanner.

First visit after C19. :s13:

Can tell you are too spoilt by Tuas Link CW buses. :s13:

I think for those living in the East or central, these locations are as good as it gets.
Pick up point should be nearer to MRT mah, if still need to walk 10 mins then no point.
