JR East Pass split into 2

Its a bummer since i'm planning to use 'old' JR East pass for summer next year, then i saw this...

* Sales of the current "JR EAST PASS" will end on March 31, 2016 for passes purchased overseas and June 30, 2016 for
passes purchased in Japan.

since the 2 'new' JR East pass will be available from Apr'15 and JP still selling the 'old' one till June, does that mean i can buy the exchange order first at June and use during Jul/Aug? Anyone can shed some light?

if you bothered reading the details,

The pass is valid on five days of your choice within a 14-day period. The 14-day period starts on the day the pass is issued.

JR east pass can be bought inside and outside of japan. if bought outside out japan, they will give u an exchange order which u have exchange for the actual pass. exchange order is valid for 3mths only. so since the overseas sale is until 31 march, u can only use it until 30 jun.

for buying within japan, it is the actual pass, which is activated on that day itself (if I am not wrong). and the sale is until 30 jun.

so either way, u cant use the pass after 30jun.
