Hi sorry to hijack too,
Like to ask , if there a one days jr pass which allow travel from osaka airport to kyoto , to nara (where the deer park is ) and back to kyoto?
All within a day.
thanks
there are 2 ways to get to kyoto from rinku town:
1) take train to KIX or Hineno, then Ltd. Exp Haruka to kyoto.
this will cost 3000+yen and takes 80+min. in this case, the JR west kansai area pass will be worth it at 2000yen
2) take train into osaka, then JR special rapid to Kyoto.
this will cost less than 2000yen and takes about 100+min. JR pass is not worth it if going by this route
which part about hyperdia u cant understand? maybe we can help explain
Oh..
Coz currently I am using google maps for travel directions between places to places.
For hyperdia, somehow I can nv get similar results- eg e figures u have quoted, none of e results show anything more than 2k or less than 99mins
ignore my previous message.
i did a comparison and it looks like google results are accurate.
the reason y u cant get a route that is 80+min and 3000+yen is because the route is using Ltd. Exp Haruka, and it does not operate as frequently as the other trains. so depending on the time u searched for, u may get results for the other trains when are closer to ur chosen time.
u can try a search on google for 9 July, 9am from rinku town station to kyoto station. the first results shld be the 1hr 19min, 3220yen.
Oh yeah I was also being confused by the lines - Ltd. Exp Haruka and some others. How diff are these against those Hankyu or sth (forgot the name)
Now I really appreciate small places like hk when travelling, at least I will not be lost while reading the mtr lines
There are already some suggestion given by others to your question. I will give my 2cents worth.Hi sorry to hijack too,

Dec sun set at 4.30pm wont help too![]()
Early sunset can be very useful when visiting place for their night lightnings, which Japan is famous for.
hi, seeking advise, very confuse over the jr line here.
you see,
i be travelling to osaka then to kyoto. if i got the 7 days pass(which type?) i start the 1st days when i leave kyoto.
1st day JR of kyoto to takayama about Y14,000/adult
2nd day - still in tagayama
3nd day-tagayama to hakone about Y12,000/adult
4th day- still in hakone
5th day- hakone to tokyo. about Y3000/adult
6th day-?
7th day- ?
for 6 and 7 day, any places i can use the jr pass?
so with the above, should i buy 7day JR pass or i just buy normal pass as over at japan?
btw what is different between Green and Ordinary JR pass?
hi
is shinjuku (jr) to Maihama which is the disney station cover by the 7 days JR? Thanks
Hyperdia | SearchResult
From Shinjuku, take JR Chuo Line Rapid Service to Tokyo.
Then transfer to JR Keiyo line platform(which is a long walk within the station)
Take either JR Keiyo Line Local/Rapid/JR Musashino Line to Maihama
This is covered by your JR pass.
However, if you follow the hyperdia route with the purple/pink train. Your JR pass will not cover the private line part.
mean toyko to maihama not cover by jr pass? which is JR Chuo Line Rapid Service?
Will you be travelling from Osaka to Tokyo, and then back to Osaka again? Or will you be flying out from Tokyo?
If you will be travelling from Osaka/Kyoto to Tokyo, and then returning to Osaka/Tokyo again, then you should probably get the 7day JR Pass (28300yen) since it will also cover the Haruka Express train from Kansai Airport to Shin-Osaka/Kyoto station.
FYI, a 1 way Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo already costs 13750yen for reserved seat (or 13240yen for unreserved seat). Therefore a return trip between Osaka and Tokyo would cost 13750x2 = 27500yen.
The 7day JR Pass is 28300yen, so it's just an additional 800yen...but you can use the JR Pass for all JR trains (including Shinkansen) throughout Japan for those 7days. If you want to, you could even travel to as far as Kyushu (south of Japan) or Hokkaido (north of Japan).
Remember, if you are getting the 7day JR Pass, you should buy it when you are still in Singapore (I usually get mine from JTB or Pricebreaker..depending on which place's exchange rate is better) before you fly to Japan. Because this 7day JR Pass is not sold anywhere in Japan, you can only buy from overseas, bring the voucher to Japan, then use the voucher to exchange for the actual JR Pass when you arrive at Japan from 1 of the JR offices.
I am going to Tokyo from 24 Nov to 2 Dec 13 (9 days) and will be getting the 7 Days JR pass.
So my question is how they calculate the 7 days validity period?
I will be taking the Narita Express to Shinjuku upon arrival and maybe spend the rest of the day 1 around the hotel.
So does the 7 days validity starts when I takes the Narita Express?
