JR train pass

Hi am planning a trip to Japan. Will be travelling from Tokyo to Osaka, and probably making a few day trips around Osaka, any advice on which JR pass to get? Or would single trip be more worth it?

I am landing in Osaka and flying back from Tokyo. I am not planning to get JR pass. If you take 2x shinkansen(tokyo-osaka-tokyo) then it's worth it. else can get a 1-way ticket.

As long as not round trip + a few side trip = no need consider JRP.

I’ve only booked mine via JTB. That one requires an exchange when you arrive in Japan.

Jr pass 7 days is yen50k

One way or around yen15k.

Look for Kansai area passes to see it they for you're need.

Anyway just confirmed with jr for hokuriku shinkansen, reservations for oversized luggage isn't needed. There are luggage racks in each car.

Mandatory for tokaido shinkansen.

I recommend purchasing from the official site (link provided by the other poster); can make train reservations upon online purchase. Though still need to check passport at the designated JR office before can collect the pass.
