Look, no doubt he is promoting a FB group for Cascadia and Opal.
But I ask myself these questions:
- Is this a correct place to promoting the fb groups?
YES, where else but a thread for Jul-12 BTO? And that explains why he places the link in content body instead of signature, so that the link will not spam when he posts in other not related threads / sub-forums.
- Did he disguise the link to coax people to click, like naming it "click for a wonderful surprise!" or something?
No. It's clear cut from the link desc that it's FB group for Cascadia and Opal. People who are not related (like those for Clementi) need not waste time to click.
- Did he spam the link for the sake of spamming?
No. His postings are sensible replies or provides valuable information. It's not the same as just posting to promote a link.
Frankly, I think you're the one who is ridiculous.
If you're so easily irritated by this, I believe your life will be so miserable by almost everything that happened around you, no matter how harmless they are.
