645/647's not too bad. but 645/647 has high lift ratio. 1:83 iirc. 603's rather okay. 647 might not have that much privacy as it is next to staircast while 645 will get some west sun.

anyway im 7X :)

It's not just privacy, but SECURITY!

Too near staircase, bad guy may hide half a floor up/down waiting for owner to return home and open door.

To make the matter worst, because the staircase is too near the service yard, and designer cover up half the stairs (so that bad guy will not be able to climb over and enter from kitchen).

Which means, if anyone hiding there will have no fear that residents in blk 637, 639, and 621 are able to see.

ketua,

i dont think can push out the poles to dry your clothes.

Why not?
HDB design without catering for poles to hang outside?

My understanding of the structure is as below. I modified the pic to using color bamboo poles for illustration.

The reason of changing from vertical to horizontal is because of safety. Many maid falling down because the poles with wet cloths were too heavy on the other end of the vertical pole.

645/647 will get slight northeast wind. 603 im afraid not much wind, maybe except high levels might get some. the windy units are those facing waterway/the back.

I remember reading somewhere that the wind direction is either NE or SW.

That's not for bamboo poles. Aluminium poles are pre-fixed there, not removable.

You better check again carefully as HDB hotline most of the time do not provide correct information. If you miss the selection for the day, you are considered as giving up.

you are correct.

even you down to HDB hub counter to check, they also will give you incorrect answer, unless you email to them , got a black and white answer.

i have got 2 times lesson from hotline and counter staff.

not much pros and cons i suppose, really up to preference. to me, it's more aboutthe bedroom space.
