Jumbo Flats Layout and Floor Plans

Our new President lives in a jumbo flat, and has generated some interest in these flats. So I tot i can share some jumbo flat floor plans just for fun.

4 + 4 rm
Already comes with dual key entrance, quite rare. Only a few blocks have this.
Just build a partition between the kitchen and dining area, and you get two flats with 2 entrances!

3 + 4 rm

4 + 4 rm
Dual entrance. Super rare. Probably only a couple of units whole of S'pore like this.

3 + 4 rm

3 + 4 rm. I like this layout cuz the living room is super big.

3 + 4 rm. Quite common in Yishun and Woodlands

4 + 4 rm, corridor unit.

All the flats can be partitioned into dual key units. It helps that HDB included the original common corridor into the unit as the balcony for some jumbos.

Jumbo are two flat units connected together. All along I thought Jumbo only for 3 room flats, yet saw they said that their Jumbo is 4 room + 5 room. Wonder how is it possible or maybe the two unit belongs to different "family unit" and they just open a door in the center to connect both units.

A lot of jumbo flats in woodlands and yishun are actually converted by HDB themselves by combining 2 into 1, and doing some re-layout. These happened during the 90s, when there are a lot of left over flats unsold.

The floor plans above actually showed some are two 4rm flats combined. Super huge, if u ask me.

My friend's jumbo in yishun is 171sqm with 5 bedrooms. Super big.

Yes I remembered they combined because lack of demand of flats that time

But I also remembered that time they only combined a 4 rm flat and a 3 rm flat together to form a jumbo flat

same. thought max was 3+3 or 3+4 type.

Madam Halimah and her husband, Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee, bought the jumbo flat - comprising two adjacent five- and four-room flats with the dividing wall between them knocked down - at Yishun Avenue 4 more than 20 years ago on the resale market as she wanted to live near her mother.


She had jumped at the chance to buy both units when she heard the two sisters living there wanted to sell.

Actually the header here state adjoining 3rm or smaller flats to convert into 1 unit.
