Just changed new pc

Need some expert advice

Can someone help to advise if the old hdds can be transferred to the new desktop. I have one ssd and one hdd in the old pc. Can i simply just take out and plug into new pc as secondary drives? Or need to format the drives?? The old window 10 os is still in the old ssd though. Will it boot from this old ssd instead??

Also anyone knows how to get rid of the loading boot screen from the bios. Its showing some msi game logo as load screen..

And the casing fan led lights, is there a switch to turn them off?

You can use the SSD and HDD without reformatting. I would suggest you install Win 10 onto the new SSD first before plugging in the existing SSD and HDD. The PC should boot from the new SSD but if it does not, it is a simple matter of setting the boot order in BIOS.

There should be an option in the BIOS to turn off the boot logo.

Depending on the MB and/or casing (to which the case fans are plugged), there should be an option to switch off the case fan lights in the BIOS.

must i deactivate the windows from the old pc first or can it done all in the new desktop?

The bios nowadays looks so complicated. Need to search for the boot screen for the led switch or the boot priority. There isnt a physical button on the casing to turn off the lights...

Err... if upgrade from previous Windows, correct me
if I am not wrong cannot transfer the Win 10 upgrade key.
Cuz the Win 10 upgrade is tied to Win 7 pro that
is installed on that PC.

If you want to reuse the same key you will have to install
Win 7 pro and upgrade to Win 10.
However these days most PC doesn't support Win 7.

I suggest buy a new Windows 10 license.

Totally wrong. The moment you upgrade the windows 7 to windows 10 using that key, it already becomes a windows 10 key from then onwards. Source: me. I took the 10$ upgrade offered then when W10 was launched. Has since installed 6-7 times using the same windows 7 key.

You can reuse the key again for your new installation but you have to call microsoft if you need to reactivate. If you use tie the key to a microsoft email even better. Don't even need to remember the key

That's for OEM key dumb ass. Retail key you can move it around NEW PC or NEW MOTHERBOARD. You can tie retail keys to a microsoft email. Truly techidiot. Learn the difference between OEM key vs retail key before trying to correct me.

I have used the SAME WIN7 key for 3570k+z97, 7700k+z270f&z270-prime, 3600+b450&x570 using W10 installers.

Actually the shop i bought from also say some thing similar. From 7 upgrade to 10 is cannot reuse.

But i think that's only for oem license which Microsoft offer one time free upgrade last year.

For retail edition i think can reuse for new computer. Not sure if mine works or not. The most go buy one product key from gray market lor.

If you have a dead laptop with Win 7, then use the key and upgrade to Win 10. I tried this method twice already and so far so good.

I do have a dead laptop lying around somewhere. I havealready installed a window 10.iso file in the new pc. Will it just accept the old win7 laptop key into win10?

In this case, can I just ignore the deactivate process and straightaway just activate Windows on the new pc?

Old pc still can use just that no Microsoft updates right?

Yes.

Not sure about that as I have 3 different retail keys so whenever I change hardware, all my PCs will always have different keys. (I didn't deactivate existing installations.)
