Os fully on ssd. Hdd just contains media and doc files.

Ssd on 1st boot priority on ahci.
Both ssd and hdd on sata 3.

Saw users globally also reported the same issue.

My boot up timing based on bootracer:
Ssd: 12 sec
Ssd+hdd: 15 sec

That is expected, as BIOS need to detect & read devices during boot.

Thanks jtjt00.

Were you expecting 1 second?

There's no need for you to troll me.
Call me a noob, if you wish.

My line of thought is that since the hdd has nothing to with booting up, then there's shouldn't be an effect on boot up timings.

Your 12s quite gd le... mine slightly longer than that. Maybe due to the amt of startup programs.

but iirc, bootracer only measured windows startup time to desktop, didn't include POST/BIOS unless now changed...

@TS, yes it's expected. I have SSD + 1x 3.5" HDD + 3x 2.5" HDD. It increased bios post from <5s (ssd only) to 10-15s (all of those drives)

The more things you put into ur pc connecting to your motherboard, the slower it gonna boot.

does that few seconds really matter anyways o0

dont understand the point of stuff like this. the extra seconds taken to boot up is so negligible

hi all, i'm using

gigabyte h87n-wifi + i5 4570
samsung evo 840 120GB SSD

together with HDD WD Black 2TB and WD Green 1.5TB.. my boot up time for windows 7 is actually around 1 min. anyone able to advise what could have caused this delay?

the OS was first installed on the SSD, the older sata disks were connected after OS installation was done.

yeah.. i was wondering if the bios settings or anything had to do with it.. my WD drives were only connected to the motherboard after my windows 7 was up and running.. so definitely couldnt have installed on the wrong drive.. haha

Got try removing/disabling your HDD from boot list completely? And got check HDD health?

I have crucial m500 and 1tb hdd wd black.

It only took 7 sec for me to boot to windows desktop. Sometimes the monitor turn on, can't catch up with the power boot up so it will skip windows logo to desktop.
