Juve confirm Vieri talks

Juventus transfer guru Luciano Moggi has announced that negotiations for Christian Vieri are in progress.

?There is an obstacle in our path to Vieri,? revealed the Director General, ?and it is an economic one.?

Moggi is traditionally tight-lipped about transfer stories and only last month kept pundits guessing on Juve?s new Coach until he unveiled Fabio Capello as the man in charge.

The press speculation about the Bianconeri holding talks with Inter were brushed off by patron Massimo Moratti, but this time the Turin giants are not hiding their intentions.

?I will visit Forte dei Marmi to eat some nice fish soup,? he smiled, ?but I won?t tell you who my dinner companion will be.?

It is well known that Inter chief Moratti is currently at the Tuscan seaside resort for a holiday, so more negotiations to whittle down the final details will take place over the weekend.

Moggi was also interviewed as he visited the Coverciano training ground, where the Italy squad is preparing for Euro 2004. He was officially invited along with several other club directors by the FIGC, but it?s reported he took the opportunity to discuss his plans with Vieri.

When told that the striker had insisted in a press conference that he knew nothing of negotiations for a move, Moggi made one of his traditional sly remarks.

?For a move to go through you need the acceptance of three parties: the player and both clubs. Those who say nothing are tacitly accepting a situation, so Juve are staying silent. Seeing as Inter are also refusing to comment, I?ll assume they are also making a statement of acceptance.?

Juve transfers stalled

Sunday, 06 June 2004

by Nadia Carminati
Juventus' bid to bring Christian Vieri back to Stadio Delle Alpi has reportedly stalled because of a late interest from Real Madrid and the player's reluctance to accept reduced terms.

Speculation in Italy suggests Madrid are ready to launch a shock bid for the Italian international - which could explain the player's reluctance to ink a deal with Juve.

Vieri stands to earn ?16 million if he completes the remaining two years of his Internazionale contract - a move to Juve would net him just ?14 million over a four-year period.

Another potential stumbling block is Internazionale's desire to take both Marco Di Vaio and Manuele Blasi in any deal involving Juve.

Meanwhile, the man Vieri is earmarked to replace, David Trezeguet, is also experiencing problems in his own move to Barcelona.

The talented Frenchman has agreed personal terms with the Spanish giants but Juve general manager Luciano Moggi has confirmed that the two clubs are wide apart in their valuations of the player.

''They offer ?10 million - we want ?20 million,'' confirmed Moggi.

''He already has an agreement with them but we will send him on our conditions. Otherwise, he stays here at the cost of going in the stand.''

i'm surprised when i saw this piece of news...:\

Juve Ready To Sacrifice Thuram For Cannavaro

06/07/2004. Latest reports in Italy seem to indicate that Juventus and Inter are ready to prepare a swap involving their defenders Lilian Thuram and Fabio Cannavaro.

Cannavaro has always been in Fabio Capello's list of wanted defenders even when he was at Roma, but at the time he was unable to lure the Italian national team captain with the giallorossi.

Now he has the chance to bring the Inter defender to his court, especially since the nerazzurri would be interested in a swap with Thuram who Capello will be willing to sacrifice.

Meanwhile, Kapo's adventure with the bianconeri seems already to be at an end as Capello does not consider him in his plans. The French player was signed at the time when Didier Deschamps seemed destined to take over at Juventus, and so Kapo will most probably end up on loan with Monaco for next season.

Thruam for cannavaro?

u guys think worth it ornot?

Trezeguet targets Juve stay

hmmm...with him staying...its not that bad either...

Tuesday, 08 June 2004

by Nadia Carminati
Unsettled Juventus striker David Trezeguet has revealed he could stay at the club despite seemingly being on his way to Barcelona.

The French international appeared to be heading out the Juve exit door after failing to agree a new deal with the Italian giants.

Barcelona are very keen on the ex-Monaco man and are believed to have agreed a deal with the Frenchman.

Trezeguet has now done a U-Turn and insists he is committed to Juventus after getting a call from new coach Fabio Capello.

"A lot of my recent comments have been misinterpreted," Trezeguet told Italian daily Tuttosport. "My desire is to continue playing in the Bianconeri shirt.

"Capello has phoned me and asked whether I was ready and willing to work with him at the club.

"I was happy to be asked and I responded positively because I want to be a part of the Juventus project.

"I feel like a Juventino in every sense and I want to stay here in Turin for as long as possible.

"I want to sign a contract with Juve as soon as possible so all our problems will be put apart.

"Probably a few of my declarations have provoked problems and for this reason I make my apologies.

"But what I didn't understand is that in three years there hasn't been time to discuss my contract as has happened for my other team-mates.

"We will look at everything after the European Championship and probably before my holidays."

Fabio won?t snub Juve

world class defender coming our way!!??

Inter?s Fabio Cannavaro has admitted that he would accept a summer move to Juventus.

"Every player in the world would like to play for them. They are a great and prestigious club," he said. "How could anyone turn them down?"

The defender has been linked with the Stadio Delle Alpi outfit after the arrival of Fabio Capello as Coach.

"I know that Capello rates me highly but it will be up to Inter to decide my future," added the 31-year-old.

The Nerazzurri are understood to be willing to release the former Parma man in exchange for Lilian Thuram.

Juventus are looking for a new central defender after their nightmare defensive performances last term.

Meanwhile, one defender linked with the Old Lady isn?t so keen on a move ? for the time being.

"I would love to join Juventus but only after I?ve played in Serie A for one year," said Alessandro Parisi. "That experience would allow me to compete for a first team shirt."

The Messina left-back, 27, has had a sensational season by helping the Sicilian club win promotion to the top-flight.

Cannavaro Not Going Anywhere
06/08/2004

Fabio Cannavaro has denied he will be leaving Inter this summer to join Capello's Juventus.

The Italian national team captain feels honoured by the bianconeri's interest, but he insists he will not be going anywhere. "I'm not leaving, but it pleases me to know that I'm admired by Capello and a team like Juventus."

Juve forget Gilardino bid

:(

Juventus may have dropped out of the race to sign Under-21 ace Alberto Gilardino from Parma.

The Italian giants have been heavily associated with a summer swoop but that may no longer be the case.

"Their interest seems to have cooled over the last few months," revealed his agent Marcello Bonetto.

"The main reason seems to be that they are after Christian Vieri of Inter and I?m not sure whether they want to buy both of them."

Gilardino is one of the hottest properties on the transfer market after a stunning campaign at the Stadio Tardini.

He started the year as a substitute to Adriano but ended the season with 23 League goals.

He also played a key role in the Azzurrini?s European Championship victory last night when he netted in the 3-0 win over Serbia.

Gilardino, who was the joint top scorer at the Finals with four goals, could now be on his way to Roma.

Roma open Juve talks

Roma are reportedly ready to start talks with Juventus over the sale of star man Emerson.

The midfielder has agreed personal terms with the Bianconeri but the move has stalled as Roma would rather sell him elsewhere.

It?s understood that a fee has been agreed with Real Madrid but the player insists he only has eyes for Juventus.

The Giallorossi don?t have a great relationship with their great rivals but Emerson?s contract situation will force a sale.

The former Bayer Leverkusen ace only has a year left on his contract which means the club must sell or risk losing him for nothing next summer.

Given the fact that Emerson and his agent have repeatedly stated that they want a Juve move, Roma are set to negotiate a fee.

Real Madrid are believed to have offered £12m but the Turin giants are reportedly ready to only table an £8.5m bid.

However, it is suggested that the capital outfit could accept that figure if Juventus promise to withdraw from the race to sign Alberto Gilardino.

The Parma striker has been linked with both clubs and new Roma boss Cesare Prandelli is keen to have the player at his disposal again.

There is also the possibility that Juve could offer midfielder Manuele Blasi, who worked with Prandelli at Parma last term, as part of the deal too.

Alex: I?m as good as Totti

Alessandro Del Piero says he doesn?t feel inferior to Italy?s new star player Francesco Totti.

The Roman was described as Italy?s answer to Michel Platini by Giovanni Trapattoni yesterday, but the Juve ace feels he shouldn?t be forgotten.

"I haven?t got anything less than Totti," said Alex. "I?m not really taking Trap?s comment into consideration anyway.

"Totti is Totti and I am Del Piero. We play in the same team and we must consider ourselves on the same level."

However, there is no doubt that people are expecting great things from Totti this summer rather than the Juve No 10.

"I?m not affected by the praise that Totti is receiving," he insisted. "In fact, I?m pleased that people are not saying that it will be my tournament as I could spring a surprise."

Trap has stated that the Azzurri are a different proposition with Totti in the side, does Del Piero agree?

"I don?t know how we would play without him," he responded. "Francesco is a great player who is looking forward to making an impact."

Although the Coach feels that Totti is key, Del Piero seems sure of a starting shirt if the boss keeps faith with the 4-2-3-1 system.

"Even if we don?t play like that nothing will really change for me," insisted the 29-year-old. "I may feel more pressure from Cassano but that wouldn?t cause a problem."

Del Piero also commented on Gennaro Gattuso?s decision to criticise Trap for not considering him and Andrea Pirlo in his first team plans.

"I think that you need to weigh up Gattuso?s comments correctly. He was simply stating the fact that he is ready to play if needed," he added.

Alex concluded by commenting on rumours that David Trezeguet could remain at Juventus next season.

"I haven?t got any problems with David," he said. "Emerson? I hope that he arrives. There have already been some surprises this summer, starting with the appointment of Fabio Capello."

Meanwhile, Trap is set to select Mauro Camoranesi ahead of Stefano Fiore for their opening game against Denmark.

The Azzurri played a practice match this morning with a team that should be selected next Monday.

Italy probable: Buffon; Panucci, Nesta, Cannavaro, Zambrotta; Perrotta, Zanetti; Camoranesi, Totti, Del Piero; Vieri

Now Trezeguet wants Juve stay

ITALY Seria A, Tuesday June 08 2004
David Trezeguet is ready to make a U-Turn and stay on at Juventus, despite having reportedly agreed a deal with Barcelona.

The French international had been heavily tipped to move to the Nou Camp this summer after an unhappy time with the Bianconeri, although the two clubs are believed to be too far apart in their valuation of the player.

The former Monaco forward says he is ready to sign a new deal following his chat with new boss Fabio Capello.
