Is this doable? Plan to visit osaka,nars,kyoto.. the purpose of going tokyo is just only for disneyland and disneysea (3 nights)
should i buy 7 days jr pass?
should i buy air tickets to tokyo or osaka?

I done that 8 times. Kansai and Tokyo together. Going to do 9th times in few months time.

it is of course doable, depending on the days you got to spare.

Kansai require around 1 week to explore. Just the surface.

Osaka and Nara can be done in 1 day.
I don't find anything much to do in Osaka .

Kyoto is where you should spend more days - 3 days.

Tokyo in your case 3 days.

If it is one way, then not worth buying the 7 Day JR pass.

If it is a return trip (ie you returning to Osaka to catch ur flight), then it is definitely worth getting the 7 day JR pass.

Airline do allow arrival at one and then depart from another.. Multicity..

Compare the cost of arriving/departing from one airport plus 7d jrp cost vs arriving at airport a and departing from airport b plus one way Shinkansen..

My trip later this year is arrive hnd, depart kix.. Only like 80 more(for 2a and 1 infant) as compare to arrival/departure from hnd. A one way nozomi would cost me about 14k jpy/adult..

Take note Hikari is the fastest Shinkansen available to jrp user.

Determining factors to consider:

1. How many days are you going to be travelling this round?

2. Check cost differences of:

- Multi-city air tix
- One way Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto/Osaka
- 7 Day pass cost

Calculate and take the most affordable one.

3. Since your Tokyo itinerary is fixed, you can work with the Kansai area itinerary on what you want to do.

4. Osaka has more things to see and do if you look and do research. 1 day is just scratching the surface. Please do not be misinformed.

Suggest laying out all your options and plan from there, either:

Tokyo-Kansai-SG
Kansai-Tokyo-SG
Tokyo-Kansai-Tokyo-SG

The last option, to me, is not that advisable

Kobe?
Don't use JR pass between Kobe, Osaka and Kyoto though. The trains only cost 400-500 yen 1 way between these 3 cities.
