The course is not easy as people think. You need to put in substantiate amount of effort, especially if there are topics that you are weak at. For topics that you are stronger at, possibly not as much effort required.
For the majors which I choose (Cyber Forensics and Business Info Sys), there's not a lot of programming. You need to have basic programming background though. But if you choose Computer Science, it's different... your programming background needs to be more than basic.
One advice for those taking part-time courses - make sure you plan and manage your time properly, especially those on shift work or on call. The number of assignments may be little (2 to 3 per module), but each assignment is quite long. Some require lots of research and writing to demonstrate your understanding or expand the scope.
It has happened a few times this year that each time I settle down to work on those assignments, something major would happen and I have to work instead, resulting in delay of submission of assignments. Each delay costs 5 marks per day for a maximum of 2 weeks, after which, you automatically fail the module.
If you are aiming for credit and higher results, such things are best avoided.
Plan your modules carefully also. If you know you are weaker in certain areas, take lesser modules or don't take too many weak modules within the same trimester.
Last thing - no matter how bad your English is, the least you can help yourself is proper spelling and grammar, especially for those research-based assignments. Bad spelling and grammar can cost a lot of marks.
