Kaplan???

Hi, sorry quite new to this forum. I heard about Kaplan and that its quite popular now.. Hope some of you guys who are studying there or have alrd graduated can help me with some of the qns I have cos I'm not really sure about this...

1- is it true the students at Kaplan are mostly foreigners/PRC and very few locals?

2- roughly how many people in a class?

3- Does Kaplan have any student clubs/events for its students to interact?

4- im currently in NS now and by the time I ORD and start my diploma I would be at least 21. Therefore would it be safe to assume everyone else would be younger than me by at least 2-3 years?

Although I know studies should be my first priority when it comes to choosing a uni to take my dip/degree from, but I also want to make new friends as well and expand my social circle the way my counterparts from local unis/SIM do.. But I'm not too sure about Kaplan cause I haven't heard much other than their Murdoch D/L programs.

Was grad from Murdoch D/L programs. I was told by the lecturer that part time class at night more local students, where else full time day class a lot of foreigners.

Hi Im from Kaplan.

It depends on what course you take. Generally, the locals are about 3/4 of the class for Event / Business class. Classes would depend but usually around 20 students. And yes, most of the students will be younger ( guys will be older of cos due to local NS )Im from Murdoch :)

If you are interested in Kaplan, you may want to consider me for your referal scheme ! It will takes you less than a minute to fill up my particular on the referral form when you enrol. This referal scheme would give us $700-800 which we will share equally? :)

Kaplan and SIM both accept a lot of foreign students so I won't be surprised if your classmates end up being mostly indo chinese. If you want your classmates to be all local you should check out NAA. I heard they only accept local polytechnic graduates students so you can be sure there no foriegners lol

Hi all thanks for the feedback! Yeah I've been told SIM is better in terms of student activities and clubs. It even has an orientation camp for freshman! Which is quite good considering it's a private school. However, I can't make it into SIM due to me only having N levels not O's, thus leaving me with very limited choices and Kaplan seems to be one of the better ones. Can anyone tell me what's the average class size for their Diploma programmes? Wanted to do Business admin... Thanks again 😊😊

why u choose Business Admin? whats ur current intended degree programme?

From Business admin my intention is to progress to Bcom Banking and Finance from Murdoch. Wanted to at least get some knowlege in business as it might prove useful when entering the workforce in banking sector :)

then why not start from a diploma in banking finance?

Hi all, thanks so much for the kind feedback. I was also looking at the courses at PSB as well. Anyone here studying there? Is it the same as Kaplan? Foreign students, 20-30 a class etc..? Their diploma and UON degrees look quite good as well. Thanks!!

Hi TS, my answer are the same as his, there are about 20+ students in a class, sometimes for certain modules, they combine different courses tgt so the class will be bigger, can be up to 40. But most of the time, there will be a lot of absent students.

You will be seeing alot of PRCs in kaplan, don't be surprised. But a FT class will have about 3/4 local student.

Btw, Kaplan has a $500 rebate for ORD personnel, ask your sales consultant for more info.

To be honest, every private institution in Singapore is the same.

High percentage of foreigners for Ft course and high percentage for Pt course. Class number wise also roughly the same.
