Can't said, I got my own reasons. Haha...
No particular right or wrong. Is individual choices.

Anyway welcome to Forex world! Mind you, this is not stocks. In mine opinion, stocks is for ginna pi. Fx, futures, option is more for real man, highly risk! High rewards ! High destruction!

Been trading a long long time in fx markets world. Time to haolian a bit......

hi everyone! lurker here

agree with above statements that sg stocks are bad for day trading.

too slow and no volatility, completely gave up because always need wait for movement, only to see it next day move back :vijayadmin:

want trade for a living should focus more on forex/indices

i myself scalp a few forex pairs using tickmill broker on MT4 platform (always use a broker that need pay commision, so no conflict of interest)

method is mainly price action + simple TA patterns on small TF charts

why u choose fxpro?

when day trade forex u want the lowest spreads that most international brokers have, most important is ECN and execution

most no-comm brokers like (cmc/cityindex/ig/oanda) are market makers so they have very wide spreads and poor execution, on top of restrictions like minimum s/l distance which can screw up some strategies

deranged, which platform u recommend?

depend on your style and how much u trade

if you got day job and just go for day swings doesn't really matter de.

MT4 is very good.

but if you are hardcore pro like some ppl i know they use TT, but that one need pay 1k+ a month to use

i suggest u go for pepperstone demo if u want, they are quite a good broker (aus based) and more importantly their demo offer their live spreads

question...lets say i set up a fx trading account.

my deposit/base currency is sgd rite?

but i can trade pairings like usd/aud (for example la, ie. two foreign currencies without sgd being base)?

then how does it work? my sgd will be converted or the platform will execute my trade, then see whatever profit/loss then convert to sgd and then add/deduct to my balance accordingly?

If based currency is SGD, it would be much easier to deposit.
You wouldn't not loss much on that conversion rates. When withdraw your profits.

International brokers, some their SGD conversion rates is bad.

There wire transfer / telegraph is beri sexpensive.

Just my opinion.

ok, so i have to use usd as base. that's fine with me. dbs got the multi-currency account, conversion quite ok imo. so if i convert there, then xfer to the fx trading account, no further charges le rite?

but my qn remains. if my base currency is usd...then i do a fx pairing of say, aud/nzd...then how? my usd will be converted to aud, then trade done, then after the trade, the profit/loss converted back to usd, then add/deduct frm my account? or just take the net profit/loss, convert to usd and then add/deduct?

Generally yeah, they'll take your profit on the trade and convert it into SGD when you close the trade.

My Anyhow analysis tells me but I wouldn't take any position:

1) Silverlake will break 1.13 and cui

3) Genting is not worth shorting if target is just 88c. Management has been supporting 90c
