Hi,

Need some recommendations on which shopping platform to purchase a kindle paper white to read ebooks. Also need advice on what to look out for? US/Jpn sets, 6/8gb memory? Etc.

Ya. I saw local sites like qoo10, shopee and Lazada around $180. So I just wonder if there are any differences.

Amazon is USD$129.99 which is about $178SGD (without bank charges). Locally if I can get lower than that and if they offer free ebooks (not sure what those are), what are the reasons why Amazon is still a better choice?

Buy from Amazon. If any problem can return for replacement. They will already have your record and it is very easy to get an exchange. I had an occasion to have mine replaced. Chat with the CSO to confirm and he/she immediately despatch a new one. No charge on condition I sent back mine within 3 months. They even provide dhl tags for return. The other sellers just provide a link to download the books. Many sites can do that. Not sure how the guarantee is like for other sellers. Don't believe too much in them.

Kobo can do overdrive for NLB loans and no annoying need to contact Amazon to rid the ads on Kindles.
