Kindle reader -- need your inputs..

I am planning to purchase Kindle ($69 version). I want to read some technical books. Since it has only 6" display size, Can we really read easily? Is it convenient? Can you help me with following feedback?


My question

1) Normally if we read a book in kindle and book size is slightly large (Smaller than A4 size), do we need to zoom multiple times on single page?
2) Is kindle automatically format the page and fit nicely so that we no need to zoom. This means suppose a page on a normal text book may be splitted into two or three pages automatically by kindle.
3) Can we upload pdf books in kindle and read?
4). Can you share your experience on reading books purchased from amazon vs PDF books we upload.

If your main reading materials are technical manuals, get an iPad-size tablet instead. EInk readers (especially the 6" screens) are really not so suitable for non-linear reading materials...

I agree with jeff. Forget about buying an e-ink e-reader if you want to read materials with graphics, and also if you want to read pdfs. Even the big brother 9.7 inch Kindle DX does the job poorly. It's a hair-pulling experience trying to read pdfs on my Kindle DX. It either freezes completely, or makes me wait 30-60 seconds to go to the next page.

E-ink readers right now is mainly for reading fiction and text-based non-fiction ebooks. Anything else, you're better off with a big tablet.
