Hi all,

I am considering between a King and Queen sized bed for my 4-rm BTO master bedroom. I think we are quite lucky that our master bedroom is slightly larger than others and we have the luxury of choosing either sized bed. Even with a king sized bed, we still are able to have a good amount of wardrobe space and space for a vanity table.

We are now thinking if we should just down size to a queen size bed instead and save that 30cm for additional wardrobe/cabinet space.

Hoping to get some insights on this. TIA!

One downside to getting a king sized bed is the bed linen - the extra material can be a pain to hang up for drying if you have limited space.

A lingering thought I have is whether I need the sleeping space or the storage space haha.

Does a king sized bed make the room look more cluttered due to lesser exposed floor space?

Personally, I will go for a queen sized bed, king sized beds look too bulky for my liking, but it ultimately depends on your needs. Currently, are you using a queen or king sized bed?

Currently is Queen but since we are moving to our new place, thinking of whether to upgrade to King
if you have always been comfortable with the size of queen and you are not certain u need bigger, then stick with queen lor.

unless you guys the way you all sleep like make yourself super uncomfortable / big size then king makes more sense.

which is more practical

Renovating our new BTO now.

Any reason for the Queen size selection?
Why ur room so big?
Queen size good enough unless.both.of.u big size.
Don't waste the extra space.
Can put dressing table, PC table, standing fan.
Open door wardrobe.

"why ur room so big?" sounds like a weird question to ask eh?

Ya after speaking with our ID andmeasuring the place, we realised that a King sized bed is actually possible.

The main wall of the master bedroom is about 4.5-4.6m long and the wall with the window is about 2.9-3m long. In fact we already factored in carpentry wardrobe (L-shape) and built-in vanity.

share with you my thought process..

i used to sleep on a queen sized bed with my husband. it was okay - not the kind we end up pushing one another off the bed but i always like the feeling when we go overseas / staycation then the hotel bed so big till i still got space to roll around without hitting him. so we decided to eventually get a king sized bed.

also bearing in mind that i had my first child back then, so king size bed at least gt space for him to squeeze with us in the middle. a queen might be too squeezy. but that is also personal preference. i know of people who ban their kids from their bed lol.

do also note that if you eventually decide to get a queen now, and do up additional carpentry / vanity table, u will not be able to upsize ur bed in future due to space limitations. but u can downsize from a king to queen if 5yrs later (for example) u feel like u dont need such a big bed.

but all i can say is once u're so comfortable with more space on the bed, u wont downsize. hahahaha.
