Huh??? Why you go through so much trouble? You CAN service non-local Sandisk microSD cards at local Sandisk outlets, you just have to pay a fee.
if I know it's going to take this long to replace it, bet I would go ahead with the local outlets.
However, based on my understanding, the local outlet plus fee does not warrant a replacement within 2 weeks. That fee is charged for administration. And do note that local outlets are only authorized distributors, not service centre. Anyone paid to get a replacement from the local and manage to do a 1 to 1 replacement?
Just my personal thought after rma for the first time with sandisk.
1. big brand with no local service centre to handle replacement is a big joke. 3 authorized distributors, no service centre...
2. process to get a replacement is too long. they require you to send in first, check and verify before replacement is being send out.
3. after trusting the brand so much and paid a high price for it, you need to pay for your own delivery to them in order to get a replacement back.
I cannot recall which is the brand and item I brought before but they sent me a replacement once I scan the receipt and snap a photo of the item for verification. and they even include a return envelope for the faulty item. all at their expense and they use courier services instead of normal registered mail. all done within a week. That's what I call quality after sale service. I think it's Microsoft Arc keyboard that I claimed warranty on it's last year of coverage.
with that rma experience, I returned with more purchase and recommendation to mu friends.
its disappointing as i use sandisk CF cards exclusively for my photography. their QC on ultra mobile microsd is just not there along with their rma procedures...
