Hi all,

I have been trying to book an accomodation for end this year but it seems like they are not available for booking yet(or they are all FULL?)

Would like to ask if anyone had been there and when was the earliest timeframe prior to the visit that you can book a room at one of the onsens?

Not open for reservations yet. 3-6 months in advance, counting from your desired dates. Do check the website again next month.

For new year, I think it's better for you to email them if you're targeting the popular ones. There are some ryokans so popular that they take reservations at least 6-12 months in advance. Fyi, it's not going to be cheap. Good luck!

yes I have sent out some emails as the sites are not taking in reservations. keeping fingers cross.

I booked a month before for a visit there (actually was there three days before you started this thread!)

Shouldn't be a problem but do go to the town's official website to see whether there are any festivals, carnivals, big events around the time you want to go. Not that you won't find any accommodation in the town, but you may not get the lodgings you want.

Beautiful place to go to by the way. In winter I'm sure the onsen will be a great comfort, though I'm not sure how many people will be walking around in their yukatas at night!

Hi guys thanks for the help. it was a tad difficult due to my stay is during the Japanese new year. Did managed to book one of the onsen after much difficulties as many places are fully booked. thankfully though, so thanks!
