Hi guys! From what I know, only JTB Singapore sells the rail pass locally but I don't want the "wide" version which is the only one that JTB is selling. I understand that it is possible for me to purchase the rail pass once I have arrived at KIX, so my question is am I able to tell them when I want to "activate" the pass like how the JR pass works? TY!! :s12:

The train station staff will stamp a chop with the date that you first use the pass...the airport access that is in the wide Version can be used outside of the 5 day period

Oh! So it will begin whenever I first start using the pass right? Holy shiat, this pass is actually freaking useful and cheap! It can save me at least $50SGD! :D

Wow, this pass is pretty good for Koyo or Sakura season. Yoshinoyama, Nara, Kyoto for Sakura and Autumn, Korankei in Nagoya for Autumn. Will consider this for Sakura season in Kansai next time.

5 days a bit short tho. And journey from Kyoto to Nagoya takes pretty long.

It's actually abit of a problem using the pass in Kyoto as most Kintetsu stations are not near the major tourist attractions...for example..if one is to go Fushimii Inari Shrine...the nearest Kintetsu would be Fushimii...a good 30mins away by foot from the shrine..and it's also a pain the ass getting to Osaka from Kyoto vice versa with the pass compared to using JR trains....that's about the few limitations I can think about in regards to the pass

Since the Kintetsu Rail Pass has limitations of only 3 Ltd Exp train trips over the 5 day period, so what I did was I used Ltd Exp trains for:
-Osaka's Tsuruhashi station to Ise-shi or Isuzugawa station to visit Oharaimachi and Inner Shrine.
- Isuzugawa/Ise-shi station to KintetsuNagoya station to visit Nagoya.
- KintetsuNagoya station to Osaka's Tsuruhashi station.

It takes longer to take Kintetsu train from Osaka to Kyoto (plus you'd have to transfer trains), so I just took regular JR train to Kyoto from Osaka since it wasn't really expensive. I just wanted to save some time.

The counter which sells the Kintetsu Rail pass at Kansai Airport closes earlier than the JR office, so you'd want to check opening hours so that you can make it to the counter in time to purchase the railpass when you arrive at Kansai airport if your flight arrives at night.

Hi dimitri_can,

I need to consult you about the Kintetsu rail pass.

As I am going to Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka from Tokyo and I want to buy Kintetsu rail pass not the wide version, how do I proceed with it. As JTB singapore doesn't sell Kintetsu rail pass.

Please advise. Thanks.

Buy from chubu airport or kix. You can't buy it anywhere else in Japan if I'm not wrong

Sorry to dig up an old thread. I want ask if I have to purchase the Kintetsu Rail Pass Wide within the opening hours of the agency at Kansai hours and if there is no way I can buy in Singapore without doing an exchange.

I've used this railpass (the cheaper non-wide version) to go from Osaka to Ise, as well as from Nagoya to Osaka.

It is worth getting if you are going to Mie prefecture or to Nagoya.

But note that you can only use the railpass to take up to a maximum of 3 Limited Express trains. So plan your train journey carefully if you are using Ltd Exp trains.
