Kiwi8 as mod

I understand discussions/threads in EDMW generally degenerate to mudslinging and name calling.
I am equally guilty as anyone.

However, to have a mod attack a person based on his position, this is unacceptable.

Would there be anyone who would review Kiwi8's suitability for a moderator role?

You did not post opinion on his statement, you posted opinion on his person.

Refuse to be responsible and admit his misjudgement.

fox1, moderators are merely members with responsibilities to moderate the forums. This does not preclude them from expressing opinions as a member.

All of us moderators have our unique personality and opinions on certain issues, be it politics or sports. Just because you disagree with his opinion, you shouldn't construe it as an attack. There wasn't any malice in the comment he made.

It seems like you are trying to nitpick on his status. You should address or rebut his comment with your own, with no bearing to his position as a moderator.

Lyfeforce, I definitely agree that mods and members have equal rights to express opinions on issues.

However, Kiwi8 is fanning the sentiments directly/indirectly through his actions/inactions, his threads and comments and I dare say, has a part to play in why interlocution degenerated to the current insults/name calling/bullying.

It has come to a stage where people are cursed to be knocked down by a car/struck with cancer, even die.
There was even a thread that openly mocked a member who has diabetes.

Vulpix has largely the same leanings as Kiwi8 but I have not seen him fan sentiments and his posts are way milder.

I believe the moderation team has received more than several protests regarding Kiwi8's suitability and I believe there would be more.

I am definitely picking on his status as a mod, not nitpicking.
A mod, again, can have opinions but a mod has to uphold the terms of forum use or else the forum will just be a gathering of indignant people and opportunists who fan the flames.

If you care to go to my post history way back, you would find that I used to post with objectivity and restraint.
However, the number of opportunists has basically drowned out most sensible exchanges with their pet insults/phrases and mob mentality.

This is plain to see and definitely not 'opinions', and certainly warrants some investigation.

Let me reiterate, the position of a moderator does not preclude Kiwi8 from making any opinion he may have, be it objective or otherwise. Since he is not addressing a forum issue, he does not necessarily need to display objectivity in his comment.

To be fair, there's no way objectivity can be observed in such a topic, as evidenced by your own posts.

It is of my opinion that an investigation is not required as there was no wrongdoing on Kiwi8's part. You may continue to feel otherwise but you should keep your own opinions objective before you demand others to do so.

I did not mean to investigate Kiwi8 but to closely monitor the rampant mudslinging.
However, if you feel that nothing is wrong, I shall desist in persisting.

I find no point in seeking recourse in your findings about Kiwi8 and will leave it at that.
