Won't it be too cold for the kids?

why is that so?

Have you travelled in winter before :s11:

The winter in Seoul is controlled by the large Siberian high pressure system (the Asiatic high), which results in predominantly cold, dry north-westerly winds. The influence of the Siberian high leads to significantly colder winter temperatures than would be expected at this latitude. About every 4 to 6 days a low-pressure trough will move through South Korea, bringing with it cloudiness and light precipitation.

Unless you are doing winter sports, like skiing, it's a pain traveling in winter especially when it's snowing. Painfully cold and days are short. You will probably just want to spend the day indoors heated.

Second the post above. Best to avoid Korea during winter, especially if you have young children or elderly. The weather is very harsh and you won't be able to do much (other than winter related activities).

Just go some weather website like AccuWeather and check the average temperatures for December last year. Really no joke.

Tks Jaslyn.

Tks to all who replied. After careful consideration, tink will heed advice not to.go.in Dec but go in mid Nov instead. I also worried my young boys cannot take the cold climate.

It's actually pretty easy to walk around free and easy in Seoul. No need to take package. There's the Integrated Pass for Access to Five Royal Sites in Seoul. Can keep you busy for at least 3 days.

I was in korea xmas 2012 n it was freezing.
Temp was around -15 in the day!
Surprisingly, there were lots of sinkies there as well.
Families i think, on holiday.

The cold temp def made it not so enjoyable as it was difficult to stay outdoors long.

You're welcome.

And to add more, coming to Korea during winter season needs a lot of preparation too like buying winter clothing etc which are expensive.

Winter clothing are pretty cheap especially Korea House Brand which you only get to see in Korea.

They are pretty good and I bought one down jacket myself and 02 pairs of Gortex sport shoes.
