Anyone knows if you are on the wait list for a business class saver ticket to London, for end September, is it likely you'll get the seat?

Is it possible to book an economy which is available, then be on the wait list for business, then if you get business you cancel the economy ticket?

Yes, if you have enough miles, book one leg for confirmed economy and waitlist for the business class.

Please note that you can only waitlist if you have sufficient miles in the account. However, waitlisting does not use up the miles immediately, only when you confirm the booking when the waitlist clears. So, if you have just enough miles for economy, do the waitlist first, then book the economy class ticket. Please note there is a cancellation fee or change fee for change of booking class, of which, change of booking class is cheaper.

so in the event my business class waitlist is cleared, i just need to pay a fee to make my confirmed economy ticket change to business class? The mile difference will be deducted? Need to call in to change right?

Yes. You can actually call in and ask them to change it over, then it will be the change of booking class fee. Then if you insists you cannot do it online, tell them to charge you the online change of booking class fee instead.
