The Mangrove Floating Chalet 红树林 has hotel rooms as well as chalets. Check with them.
Hi all,
Just a quick update...
I went to Kukup twice (Once in April and another time in June). So, I will just share my experience here.
APRIL TRIP
I went to
http://www.kukup.bravehost.com/ to search for the kukup chalet. Objective is to get a comfortable unit with good KTV, food and of cos, play fireworks and lanterns... After looking through all, we went ahead with
http://kukup.bravehost.com/2D1NKukup7CChalet.pdf.
Location: Not too far in from the entrance.
Comfort / Cleaniness: The unit was really comfortable. There were 27 of us and we had 4 rooms, with attached bathroom in each room. The unit was very clean too.
Food: The BBQ dinner, tea break, breakfast were all very good.
KTV: I would recommend this unit for those who love to sing. The KTV room is huge enough.
Cost: SGD103/adult
Remarks: I topped up additional $80 to have 1 vehicle to drive my friends up to the go-kart area before heading to Kukup. The only thing I didnt like was that they told us we could not have the lanterns / fireworks as the restaurant opposite complained before and right in front of the chalet, there were oil tanks or something like that. In the end we had to walk all the way to the other side of Kukup (and very far in) to play the fireworks... -.- They provided 2 mini bus for us.
JUNE TRIP
My family and I went to
https://www.facebook.com/%E9%BE%9F%E5%92%AF%E8%B1%AA%E5%8B%A4%E5%BA%A6%E5%81%87%E5%B1%8B-Kukup-Hao-Qin-Resort-305422416229955/.
Location: It was quite far in from the entrance (this chalet is on the side of Kukup with the famous agar agar). If you have elderly in your group, you may want to see if they are ok to walk quite a distance in. The owner of this chalet, Hui Xiang, and her husband would be more than willing to give a FREE ride on motorbike for the elderly.
Comfort / Cleaniness: The unit was really comfortable. There were 21 of us and we had 5 rooms, 2 rooms with attached bathroom. There were also 4 bathrooms at the back of the unit, so don't need to queue for toilets. The unit was very clean too.
Food: The BBQ dinner, tea break, breakfast were all good. As there were some relatives who are vegetarians, they did cater for them the food as well.
KTV: The KTV room is also big but the system not as good as the one in April.
Cost: SGD100/adult
Remarks: We were allowed to play lanterns and firecrackers behind the chalet. Hui Xiang could help arrange for in-house massage, fire crackers, agar agar and even the dao sa biscuits. However, we had to wait very long for the massage. Would recommend to walk out to the massage place yourself. The fire crackers they bought on our behalf seemed to be a bit on the expensive side though (You may go to the stationery shop outside to ask for firecrackers). Oh! They could help you buy 4D in Msia and Sg also.

They provided 2 mini van for us - and they are very very comfortable. You may contact Jason (+60 12-710 0148) for the transport. Their vehicle can sit up to 10 adults max or 10 adults + 2 child or 11 adults + 1 child. Jason is a very nice chap.
Overall conclusion: Go via 2nd link is much faster than Woodlands. It took us less than 2.5 hours each way. If you are looking for an action-packed 2D1N, Kukup is not for you. Go there to space out, relax and bond with your family and friends is the best.
