Check if there's battery in phone that has went flat. Just like computer has a button battery to keep its internal clock ticking away even when you switched off the main.

I never ever trusted these "memory bank" phones to remember anything. You can program all your favorite 4D and Toto numbers but as soon as your dog chews on the phone line it's all GONE. *POOF*. Or you trip on the wire and it disconnects.. gone.

Better go with the good old method of writing the numbers down with pen on a "telephone book". I would just use it as a normal phone and dial the numbers as required. Or get something better that has batteries like a rechargeable cordless phone. These things can keep their memories fine as long as they are charged up.

There is no battery in these kind of phones. They just use the tiny power in the phone line to keep the memory alive.

Besides have you seen all the fancy microwave ovens with 12:00 blinking on screen? Even they don't have the button battery than a comp motherboard has. Not sure why it didn't occur to ANY oven manufacturer to put a damn battery inside so that the clock doesn't reset to 12:00 when I switch the mains off for safety.

I have one Siemens cordless DECT phone. It was hibernated for many years before I took it out for use again. Surprise!!! All the saved contacts are still intact.:s12:
