Hi, I'm experiencing issues when booting up windows. everything appears fine when desktop is loaded. However, after a few seconds, mouse starts to lag and appears to freeze. Can't open any software and any interactions with the laptop is fruitless. Forced a shutdown by holding down the power button and everything will be running smoothly upon the second bootup.

I've tried the solution provided by this link, but to no avail.

what could be the causes and any potential fixes?
Thanks!

Windows 8.1
laptop model: lenovo z50-70. roughly about a year old.

It's the drivers that are malfunctioning. Might be good to do a clean install then it should go away. It's tough to isolate the issue like that.

did you install/upgrade any software recently?

if yes, try rolling back and test. Else, i would suggest that you back up all your personal files and change a new hdd.

I was experiencing what you are going through now for the last half year until my hdd gave up on me. Lucky that i was able to back up my stuffs before it said its final goodbye.

By the way, if you are not already on ssd, would like to suggest that you go for it as it really makes the laptop flies!

good luck!
