laptop dilemma

hey guys,cant make up my mind. can give suggestion on which of the following is better?

msi ge60
y500
y580
asus n56vz

requirements are :
1080p screen
some gaming (mid/high settings)
< 3kg
i7( is it necessary?)
last for min 3 years.
budget around 1.8k

MSI GE60. i7 only will affects gaming performance if you're playing heavy RTS games like Starcraft 2 or Civilization 5. Asus N56VZ only using GT 650M DDR3. It has 4GB VRAM but still can't perform better than 650M DDR5/GTX 660M especially when playing games on full HD resolution. Lenovo Y500/580 might seems more worth it but take note there are more complains about the these two model compared to MSI GE60 and Lenovo service centre infamous for keep waiting for repair parts.

i5 actually worth the value and it's more than enough even you're doing programming, video editing, photoshop, 3D modelling etc. i7 only recommended if you're doing heavy editing/gaming. If you're planning to sell the laptop after 3 years, get a laptop with i7 is not bad coz the resale price usually higher by $150 compared to i5. You might want to do your own extra research on both laptops. Let me list some of the pros of each laptop:

I think you forgot one important point. GE60 is using Gt650 while y580 is using gtx660m Yes I know there is ge60 with gtx660m however that's kinda out of my budget. I saw some reviews online and found that y580 keyboard is quite good (and has back light). As for hdd, It doesn't really matter about speed or capacity. Most likely adding a msata and I already have a 1tb buffalo extreme on standby. I guess the main deciding factor now is pricing and quality of the laptop(after researching it looks like y580 has better build materials)

Omg too many choices headache. The reason I didn't consider hp is because of the infamous overheating issue you should know. From someone who use hp dm or dv series(forgotten) I know how it feels after a few hours of gaming.

Ps. Between the few options namely y580 and ge60 other then pricing and quality, I think reliability is most important.

I don't think Lenovo has a good reliability except their Thinkpad series. After saw my friends using the Envy series, I think it's not bad. Only HP Pavilion series seems very common to die from overheating.

Most likely, I would be getting y580 because of back lighting which I totally don't understand how a gaming oriented laptop like ge60 is missing. Mainly for late night sessions. Any place that you know of is selling y580 at good price?

Can try PC Dreams. For me backlit keyboard is an optional, mostly for looks nice only as I can type without looking at the keyboard

Lols... I think anyone with some experience with the keyboard would. However I do like the white back lit keyboard(reminds me of the macbook pro;-)). I don't think pc dreams still support y580 though. Might go down and take a look and get some hands on
