Hey I'll be starting Civil Engineering.. well quite a long time actually in 2015 :s13: so this may be early/kiasu but I currently am planning to buy a macbook pro around middle to late 2014 so wanted to ask if there's lots of software needed to be installed like microstation which is primarily windows OS.

If it's quite a number of software/ used extensively then I may reconsider on my Mac and just go for a windows to make work easier. Appreciated :D

also would like to know if there's lots of engine students using mac and such? Heard it's not that prevalent
