I'm looking for a laptop for Poly.

Right now, I'm deciding between the Aftershock P-13 and the Prime 15. I don't know which one would be more suitable.

I was thinking about the P-13, because it has that USB-C compatibility which allows an E-GPU. So at least if I bring the laptop the GPU isn't running in the background and affecting the battery or stuff. It's also smaller and easier to carry.

However the Prime 15 has a bigger display and allows me to bring the graphic card anywhere, allowing for me to do other stuff if I want to outside.

Which one do I get?

Or should I get another laptop.
The thing is I have a pretty good budget and I'm trying to see to get the best possible laptop after accounting for how heavy it is as well as it's power. The laptop will presumably become my main driver for everything so I want to see the best one I can get.

I would suggest waiting till you have been accepted and matriculated into your course of studies before looking at this decision of selecting a laptop either from the school or from a laptop manufacturer.

Some courses have minimum course specific specifications. You may be doing computational fluid dynamics or rendering. Some are laxed but the course modules may require you to do electrical / finite element analysis simulations.

Granted that high specs are good. Do note that you might have a daily of lectures from 9 to 5. Where an Ultrabook with its weight, slimness and batt life might be advantageous. A windows tablet with pen functions has been proven to be a good choice as well.

p13 if u are rich enough to afford a e-gpu. prime 15 if u need the gpu to play in class (VERY BENEFICIAL).

another option can be to look for thin and light 8 gen + mx 150 laptops if you only play light games. its the best of both worlds and they are usually quite affordable.
