I am urgently looking to buy a laptop for work use as my current one just die on me today. Budget below $2K probably in the range of $1.6-1.8K. Personally I prefer Lenovo or Fujitsu as I think that they are more robust.

Please recommend.

Thanks.

List your usage, screen size/resolution, battery life and weight preferences first :D

Microsoft office and ERP system like SAP. Screen size 13.3" and below. Battery life is not so crucial for me as I am seldom on the road for long without power supply but weight is important to me as I need to carry overseas for work use. Looking at below 1.8 kg.

All the laptops below are weight less than 1.8kg and cost less than $1800. I would highly recommend Asus laptop for build quality and international warranty. IMO for Lenovo only go for the ThinkPad series and Fujitsu is kinda questionable quality since in the past I had a few Fujitsu laptops that can last more than 5 years and nowadays so many poly students keep sending their Fujitsu laptop for servicing. Never put ThinkPad X/T series as the price above $1800.

13.3" laptops:
- Fujitsu LIFEBOOK UH572
- Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13
- Lenovo IdeaPad U310
- Asus UX31A
- Asus UX32VD
- HP Spectre XT 13
- Dell XPS 13

12.5" laptops:
- Lenovo ThinkPad Twist
- Dell XPS 12

11.6" laptops:
- Asus X202E
- MSI Slider S20

I am choosing between Samsung Series 5 Ultra 14.0" Ultrabook or Asus Zenbook UX32VD.

Which will be a better choice?

If your budget is not more then $2000, can take look at the thinkpad x230/ T430/ T430u

You want light, the thinkpad x230 will suit you fine.

Laptop for work use, so far thinkpad is still highly sought after.

Another good option will be the dell xps13 or dell latitude.

Actually, the other model you can consider is HP elitebook 2570p. Same class at X230. But can find cheaper ones at around 1.5k region.

Samsung Series 5 is heavier, but better GT620 graphics.
UX32VD i7 version have FHD.
If graphics card is not so important, go for UX32VD with FHD screen and ligher weight. :)

Management has revised the budget to only $1.5K. I am actually looking at X230 but off budget. Maybe I can push for 1.6K at max. Forget to state that I need harddisk space of at least 500GB.

Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E430

Price around 1199 to 1599 depending on specs.

Sorry to hijack, care to share more info regarding Asus UX32VD? :s11:
Price/specs/availability? Personally looking for screens with 1080p or so.

Both are decent, but I will go for the Zenbook. Feel that the build quality is better.
