Hi, i've got an asus k43s laptop i got awhile ago from...i can't remember if it was starhub or singtel.
Anyway, everything was fine all along, no problems of any sort, no slowing down of anything till one day, while using it (was merely surfing the web) it switched off on it's own and wouldnt turn back on.
I've never used the battery since day 1. I googled the problem and some one of the advice that seemed to help alot of people was to hold the power button for about 30 secs while the charger is unplugged, put the battery in, and plug the charger and then let the power button go and switch it on.
It worked while the battery was in but the battery wasn't being charged at all. I tried the same method including a few other variations of it, with a without the battery and am unable to get it started since.
One thing i noticed is that the battery is definitely working, the only reason as to why it cant be switched on anymore even with the battery is because i used it all up. Like i said i've never used the battery before and when i finally got it to start it was at about 15%. So after it died, i couldnt switch it on.
From what i've said, it may look like there's a problem with the charger, however, to add on, i noticed that during that few mins of being able to switch it on with the battery, a lot of applications started to fail. Skype started to fail, and few others like windows aeros and i noticed a slight lag / deterioration of speed.
If im not wrong, it comes with 2 years warranty, however, i really cant recall if the warranty is over as i can't find the singtel/starhub receipt.
Hope bros can give me a solution to this problem, or at least advise me what could possibly be the problem, whether it's the charger or the motherboard.
BTW: I have never underclocked or messed with any of the bios settings or anything of that sort.
Thanks!
