Looking for a laptop with the below specs. Not using for gaming. Only using it for normal processing entertainment and web surfing. Any recommendations.

1. i5 or i7.
2. Preferably Quad-core.
3. Preferably SSD, if not hybrid.
4. Weight not a concern as wont be bringing out often.
5. Keyboard backlit if possible.
6. Touch screen not needed.
7. Above average sound and volume.
8. Non reflective screen if possible.
9. Less than 2k.

Thanks in advance

Asus N56VZ/N76VZ suits all your requirements except for SSD. IMO Asus N series have the loudest speaker compared to other laptop, plus the external sub-woofer is just awesome. Can buy your own SSD and replace the original HDD or get the N76VZ as it has two HDD slot.

Is there a big difference between i5 and i7 with reference to speed wise and performance?

Understand that even i7 in Samsung is only 2 cores. Will it make a difference for their 2 cores and other 4 cores

Sorry for the questions, am quite a noob for IT stuff.

Even i3 is more than enough for basic usage, i7 is totally overkill so i5 is definitely fine. Quad core processor mostly used for some heavy programs/games. Don't worry about using it for long time if it just for basic usage. Newer processor probably clocked faster only but very hard to differentiate in real-time performance.
