Laptop Recommendation for Online Classes

Hi all, I am looking for advices to replace my old laptop for attending Zoom/Webex classes. Is any i5 processor good enough? How about the RAM? Do I need a dedicated graphics card as well?

For my current laptop I could not multitask when Zoom/Webex video meeting is on. The whole laptop becomes very slow and sometimes not responding.

Applications needed to be run concurrently:
1. Zoom/Webex
2. Word/Excel
3. Chrome/Microsoft Edge
4. Snipping Tool

Yea i5 is definitely fast enough, I currently use a i7-7500u (which is as fast as a i3 10th gen now) and I can multitask with the 4 apps you mentioned above.

Now there are more laptops shipping with 16gb ram so its good if you can get one but 8gb ram should be sufficient, as your tasks is not really demanding.

Based on what u mentioned, you definitely don't need a dedicated graphics card. Save money for more ram instead haha.

Any 9th - 10th Intel chips i5 should be sufficient.

8gb of ram should be good. 16 is nice to have.

Any laptop around 1k should be fine.

Make sure it comes w a ssd, which most computer comes w.w. They will make your laptop goes fast.

Definitely! Most laptops nowadays come with ssd, but not many with 16gb ram except high end models.

My i5 6200u still going strong
Just upgraded ssd from 128 to 512
Ram upgraded to 12 gb
Only caeveat the low speed ram 1600mhz
You can really feel the lag.
I hope it will last for another 3 more years
