Hi guys,

I was hoping to get a laptop recommendation with a budget of around S$2500-S$3000.

The laptop will mainly be used for business and softwares generally used are autocad, solidworks and photoshop. As i travel quite often, having a light and portable laptop is also one of my criteria.

I looked around and saw the XPS 15 (9550) with the bezel-less 4K display and was wondering if there are similar comparison to the XPS 15 in the market? Or would there be new releases coming up in the next few months?

Thank you.

I'm not sure you are into gaming laptops. They are not the slimmest but they are definitely powerful. An example of a thin and light beast is the MSI GS63VR

Hi Tucksoon, unfortunately I'm not much of a gamer and i realised that gaming laptops tend to be quite bulky, hence i did not consider them.

I see. That MSI model is 1.8kg. One of the lightest gaming laptops in market.

Dell XPS 15 4k, look no further, no other laptops can compare to this except for macbook pro.

but since you travel often, having touch screen is a must. Or if you don't mind small screen, those detachable hybrids with dGPU also good like Asus transformer 3 pro

Can go with Apple's Macbook line... Either 13 or 15, old or new... 15 would be better in general bc of the dGPU... Buy this if u wanna look 'atas' or so used to OSX...

For Windows... Quite a few in the market...

One of them is XPS15 like you mentioned..

Another is Dell Precision 15 5510... Same body as XPS 15 but offer better processor, up to Xeon... 3ys standard warranty...

Lenovo Thinkpad series... Especially the P series... The 15 and 17 inch are build to be very user upgradable so need not to worry about parts getting old or spoil...

HP also have thier line of workstation but I don't dare to recommend any as I have trust issues with them...
