hi all,

i'm setting up a room which will be my man cave and would like to have a laptop that's gonna be connected to a monitor. i already have a 5 year old desktop in another room and would like to have a laptop for portability options if i ever bring it out. but mainly it will be on the desk. what i'm gonna use it for is:

1. basic everyday stuffs (surfing, MS office stuffs, playing music, email clients etc.)

2. while running all that, also running Adobe Lightroom and sometimes photoshop (i don't do any video editing or rendering)

3. don't really play games on PC but if the price is reasonable, i could have the option to play those common games (Left 4 Dead that kind. not AAA titles though). i have the PS4 Pro for everything else connected to a 4K tv.

so what am i looking for in the laptop? everything that supports the above. my desktop is an OEM Acer i5-2320 and while it can do things above, it starts to get really laggy and noisy when i run lightroom.

plus points:

1. weight to be less than 2kg. the lighter the better.

2. nice / cool aesthetics (RGB, color backlit keyboards etc.)

3. preferably below 2k.

i was looking and was sold on buying the Dell XPS 13 but then i was looking at Lenovo and Aftershock and now i'm in thinking again.

really appreciate your recommendations. thanks! :D:D

Your choice. Both are sufficient for your usage and gaming needs. Price wise. They have dropped. So the price of the Mx15 is now the price of the Eite

The overall setup of the elite is better. M.2 SSD + HDD. That said, i believe you can spec it out to your liking. Play around with the configurator :) or save some bucks here and upgrade it at a later tech show.

On the graphics end of things the 1050ti would be better as it offers a slight improvement over the 1050.

I would not recommend aftershock, my keyboard surface is worn out within 3 months and usb port broke within 2 months too. Unless budget is an issue, I rather say buy something more solid.

do you mean the price of mx15 elite has dropped to mx15's price? mx15 is the more expensive one right?

are you thinking of changing to another one? what would you change it to?
