Basic office and youtubing only.
Something slim and lightweight preferably.

Basic purpose should be fine. Just that the warranty comes with it is a little short. Usually more expensive model comes with better spec and longer warranty of around 2-3 years but, depends on how much you really want to folk out

Am thinking to get it for regular use.

Email, Youtube, internet banking, Sing-pass stuff, occasional stock market trading, simple word/spreadsheet processing.... Not a gamer or multimedia editing stuff

For less than SGD600, you can actually get an Acer Aspire 5 Slim laptop at Amazon SG with the following specifications:

- 15.6 inches Full HD IPS Display,
- AMD Ryzen 3 3200U,
- AMD Radeon Vega 3 Graphics,
- 4GB DDR4, 128GB SSD,
- Backlit Keyboard

If you are thinking of having more powerful system and bigger capacity storage, you can upgrade the RAM memory to 16GB and storage to either 512GB or 1TB SSD. These 2 items may cost you between SGD300 and SGD400.

Note: AMD Ryzen 3 3200U is better than Intel Core i5-8250U

If buy from Amazon SG, is buy from local or overseas retailer? if need to RMA, will there be an issue?

I saw something like this at Challenger Vivocity selling at $499 last night (18 Oct 2020).

If you buy from Amazon SG, it will be shipped from US. Thus, assuming international warranty is not available.

Meanwhile, there is another SATA slot for SATA SSD upgrade besides normal M.2 SATA (existing 128GB SSD).

I remember there’s an Asus model that my sister just brought recently, it’s running on a ryzen process and it cost around 899.... but I won’t recommend cause immediately after opening the screen turns dead. Make me really concern about QC for that particular model
