Hi guys. I am looking for a laptop to do work. Mostly using the Internet, large excel contents. Will also be playing games like cs go or ir mmorpg games. What is the cheapest laptop with such specs can you recommend?

What type of work do you do? What screen size are u looking at? Is battery an issue? Is weight an issue? will u be storing large files on your computer? .. need more info!!!!

Screen size i will prefer the normal screens as i will be using it for gaming as well. Weight is not an issue as i will not be carrying it around. Yes I will be storing large files on my computer.

If you think your going to play graphic demanding games.. i would suggest the lower spec Aftershock machine M-15-V2 for SGD1294.

But with the info that u have given a normal dell inspiron 14 or 15 without a graphics card would suffice.

Your basic spec should be core i5 (5th or 6th gen processor), 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 500 GB Hard disk.

If you are willing to spend... instead off a 500GB hard disk get an SSD.

M-15 V2 configuration at $1294 does not come with OS. Hence TS needs to spend extra for the OS. Assuming he gets it purchased from aftershock, that's an extra $100+.

As TS is going for light gaming, dGPU is advised. CSGO performance on iGPU while playable, is ****.

TS needs to provide more information like what is the definition for his normal screen size and his budget.

With no budget, also can consider getting MSI GT80? /s :s22:

Hi All,

Would really like a laptop recommendation.

1) preferred 14 inch but 15 is fine too.
2) carrying around for daily commute
3) used for light Photoshop, illustrator work
4) budget 1.5k

I do own an Envy 15 (2014 spec, non touch).

It's pretty heavy to lug around on a day to day basis - more for a desktop replacement.

Do try out the touchpad on the demo sets in stores to see if it to your liking - the 2014 versions have pretty awful touchpads.

Seeking Help - Laptop Recommendations

Hi

1) Screen Size: Up 13++ inch
2) Carryaround for daily commute
3) Mainly use MS Office applications
4) Retrieve email, youtube, watch videos online

I narrow down to Dell XPS 13, HP Spectre 360.. Not sure if I miss out any other brand/models. Thinking of buying thru US Microsoft store but not sure about warranty..

Thanks in advance.

Do be sure to check the warranty i.e. if it's international warranty.

Purchasing it and shipping via forwarder?

Power bricks would also be different owing to the locale that it is serving ( US domestic market).

Thank you very much for your advice, however, HP has no more stock.
