Laptop slow

Hi there,

My laptop is slow.
1) Notice it slower when computer is hot - can I use a fan beside it?
2) I am using a SSD, can I upgrade to another SSD with large capacity?
3) Can I upgrade to another RAM to make it faster?
4) Can I reformat it to make it faster?

buy a $10 laptop cooling pad
If you can open up to see, then you can replace.
add more ram if slot exist
reformat can help after you do all the above

When you said hot, how hot is hot? Laptops will always run hot, and the CPU/GPU throttled. But if it is throttling a lot due to high temps, then it is a problem because if unaddressed, will kill the CPU/GPU.

how much ram? if 4gb/8gb ram, upgrade the ram if can

if 16gb ram and cpu is dual core, please upgrade to ryzen or quad core intel

if 16gb ram and cpu is quad core, you are using dramless drive. Once the cache slc is filled up, your computer will perform like hdd

Once again, what is the cpu of this laptop. if it is celeron/pentium, then you are trolling

Can laptop self upgrade CPU and RAM?
If the new laptop outweigh the replacement can right?

Input ur laptop model......

For example t15 gen 2 intel crucial upgrade.....

Crucial website will show u what ssd and ram are compatible with t15 gen 2

I just change a 2017 laptop from a SSHD to a SSD samsung evo 860. Got difficulty cloning the hard drive yesterday using clonezilla. Any recommendation for good cloning software? 2ndly, is there a cloning sofware that can easly clone 74 used/500 gb to a empty 250gb harddrive?

When you are cloning a drive, you are basically telling the software to copy everything from drive 1 to drive 2. In this case, the first question is whether these 74 used 500GB contains a lot of data or not? If they are quite full, then how can a single 250GB drive contain 74 500GB drive full of data? You can compress some data, but there are limitations to what it can do.
Assuming there are hardly any data in the 74 drives, then you are better off just copying the data over to the 250GB drive than to do a clone because it will be a lot quicker. If you clone the drive, you probably need to configure the drive into 74 partitions, which I am not sure if it is feasible. From my limited understanding, you cannot clone multiple drives into a single partition. As mentioned earlier, cloning means copying 1 drive to another, meaning that you will need at least 1 partition on the drive to clone onto, depending on how many partitions you created on the 500GB drives.

I mean 74gb out of 500gb is used in the existing HDD. Misunderstand.

my i5 6200u cannot tahan google chrome......

time to get quad core lineup from intel or 8 cores from amd my fren....

Max is 8gb....
Even CPU can support, it the motherboard that will reject the ram.....

I7 4510u is quite rare......
A laptop CPU can last for 6 years......
I suggest you get a new product instead.....

Not worth it to swap CPU and ram ......

Next time avoid getting laptops with 8gb soldered and 1 empty slot..... You are better off getting empty slots....

Inspiron 5410 2 in 1 or 5415 or 7415 2 in 1 (check dell outlet , not found in sg store) still retain dual ram slot.......

Lenovo side, just avoid IdeaPad and get L14 and l15 if want 2 slots.

If want 2 in 1 form factor , get l390 yoga from thinkpad dual ram slot as well

You might want to try using Macrium, its free for personal use. Can use it to clone to an image file and then use macrium to boot up new SSD and clone the image to new SSD. Do a search on google for how to use it.
