There’s a trend of larger TVs and you don’t need a lot of space. For 4k UHD viewing, 2 meters is plenty for a 75” for example.
And the big brand names now offer even 85” for under 2000$.

Don’t believe that you don’t need a large space? Check the viewing distance threads.. for real ultra high definition pictures you can’t sit too far.
Otherwise you won’t be enjoying the real picture quality.

At 1.8m viewing distance, I would like to watch 21:9 movies on a 75-incher, then scales 16:9 dramas (with big faces) down to 60-70% on PC or 80% on TV box. 85" 4K? I'll have to sit much further back in order not to see the pixellation ... unless 8K.

Wow! Is there 85" for under $2,000?

For larger purchases, there’s a certain advantage of buying from brick and mortar stores…

Last time in 2015. I bought my sony 75 x850c inch tv for $6.2k at best denki taka. My viewing distance is about 2.7m. Recently I shifted my 75 inch tv to one of my bedroom and replaced it with a 120 inch laser tv. Viewing distance is 3.3m.

Now 3k plus could get u 85 inch tv which is quite affordable now. Wherr 98 to 100 inch tv is min $8k plus .hopefully few years later we can get it for $3k.

Just curious .... why did you not consider buying the 85 / 86 / 98 / 100inch 😱 TV but instead replaced it with the 120 inch laser tv? (y) Thank you!

As I enjoy watching Disney plus and Netflix at home. I don't see a significant screen size upgrade from 75 inch to 85 inch. I couldn't get a 100 inch tv as my current feature wall is unable to mount a such a heavy tv and the stand width is too narrow to place tv on top. That why I give 120 inch laser tv a try.

I am using hisense L9H. Not very sure whether it is really that good coz i still feel tv work better in all kind of environments such as day time , gaming and qualities details.
I got it for $8699 which included the ALR screen. I believe they are other brands of laser tv here that cost much lesser.

Giving a choice for getting a big screen.
Should always consider Get a 100 inch tv 1st rather than a 100 inch laser tv.

Unless living in private property, I guess ~86” tv is the max size that can fit in hdb lift, at least for my case.

Following this thread, I'm a sucker for big screen. Been using ust laser projector for years as TV 100" to 120" cost an arm + a leg. If price point of TV comes close to ust projector price, it's no brainer to get TV.
