Am about to take a trip down to SLS soon. And saw that only a few shops are holding AMD parts. Saw that Laser Distributor's price list do sell AMD parts and their price are reasonable.

But how is their reputation and after sales service?

Any of their regulars or patron can provide some feedbacks? Thanks!

Hmm but why do you need an amd products. Dont take for granted that they have stocks by seeing price list. Some wont tell you that they have stocks.

So that he can build a rig with his desired processor and board?

Anyway TS, call them to find out if they actually have stock.

I think roy is curious because sg seldom got people buy amd processor since SG mark up the price making them not as value oriented as compared to buying in US.

1. The TS could not know any products that is better of in what he can get with the money.

2. Many still thinks that AMD in SG is still cheaper than Intel. Which is not.

3. Performance many still think that more physical cores = good. But in reality it is based on applications optimizations.

4. That is where my stand is, to help and to make sure that TS do not be swayed over to buy the wrong things and to confirm that TS knows what he wants and what he is doing.

Used to frequent their shop last time when i started learning to DIY. Boss and wife is pretty friendly and helpful, honest seller imo. One of their technician (not sure if he is still the working there) is pretty helpful too and willing to share knowledge with customers. But their price is not the cheapest in sls.

AMD sucks I recently upgraded from FX6300 to Intel Xeon.
Faster, quieter and dump less heat into my room.
My only question was why I didn't dump AMD earlier.

I think AMD only have one last card to play, in that their integrated graphics are usually stronger than Intel's ?

Laser is one of the most trust-able shop in SLS. I still buy from them even thou their pricing may not be the best in SLS.

FX6300 is a very old chip. Doubt SLS have anymore stocks. Even the new 8370 and 8370E is very hard to locate. Sabertooth very low chance as well.

I got my 8370E purely for experimenting with win 10. If purely for daily usage and gaming just get an i5 with B85 or H97 and save the money.

Fx6300 was the cpu i used to bought and play with.

Its isnt a good cpu tbh. You have to overvlock it further to match the older i5-3470 on stocks settings.

And consume way much power and heat output.

In certain games that do not use multi cores, this cpu bottlenecks the gpu performance.

Best for you for $450 could even land on a good mobo with i5 chip.

ASUS B85 Gamer + i5-4460
Msi B85 g43 Gaming + i5-4460
ASRock b85 Killer + i5-4460

Msi h97m g43 + i5-4460
ASRock h97 performance + i5-4460

Pick any one of them. The i5-4460 still pawns the fx6300.

Go taobao get Xeon e3 and get mobo cheap from tradepac, cost me cheaper than a SLS i5 combo for 4 core 8 thread.
No graphics though but I already got GFX card
In china xeons are cheaper than i7

My proven combo
Xeon E3-1231v3 (~320 plus shipping) and Asrock B85M Pro 4 (124 only from TP) :D

You want FX6300 want to buy from me?
