Anyone did relex smile with EEC?
Wow! 1st post after 5years! Welcome welcome.

I did lasik at EEC. my friend did SMILE.

I was contemplating between this 2 procedure also back then. Have you went to see the Dr to see which is more suitable? I was more inclined to do SMILE but after consultation, I went with LASIK instead. I mean, my knowledge of the different procedures are strictly from the Internet. The Dr will have better assessment and experience. Listen to what they have to say and decide.

Hello! Yeah I just did relex smile around a week ago with corneal cross linking. Seems like my vision is still quite blur. Wondering whether this is normal? Read that corneal cross linking takes longer to heal. Just thinking how long does it take? Could you share your friend's experience with me? Thanks!

Did you bring up the blur vision to your doc?

my friend did a few years back so even for myself when I asked him about his experience back then, he can't remember much already.. lol

AS for myself, I just did lasik at EEC in 3 months ago. starting yes, alot days with blur vision. And yes you are right, CXL will take longer to "recover", will have "hazy vision" for some time. Honestly speaking, my vision was problematic from the 1st day after op to recently. Only this week then I begin to feel the wonders of lasik.

Starting the blur vision can have quite alot different reasons, Dry eyes is one of the top most common reason. put the natural tears drops as often as you can.

Then also monitor the situation with your doc. I happened to have a problem with the steroid eyedrops that caused my eye pressure to shoot up. The eye pressure caused so many issues that made my vision blur, to the extent it was almost 200deg of myopia vision. Luckily I very kiasee, the moment my vision was blur for a while, I made an appt to see the doc immediately and found out this problem before it caused any damage.

After this eye pressure issue resolved, things start to recover then another problem come again. Again dry eyes. This time, it was so bad until it start to "form crystals-like" on the cornea that blurred the vision. But luckily its a small issue, just some antibiotic again and its fine.

This week my vision had been consistently good and require lesser natural tears drops. Few weeks back I was using like 10 tubes of the drops everyday. Now maybe 1-2 tubes.

Nice to see it's working out well for you.
I just did Femtolasik + CXL at EEC too. I'm at my 2 weeks post-op already but both eyes vision still not yet perfect. Left eye seems to be sharper than right and both eyes are not improving at all so far this few days.

Do you rmb the name of the steroid eyedrops? Is it Tobradex or Timolol Maleate? Sometimes after applying those prescribed eyedrops or the artifical tears, my vision will turn blurry. Jialat i didn't know is it cause my eye pressure shoot up? :s11: Like my myopia increased like yours too. So far dry-eyes have been okay for me. On-Off dry eyes. I try to just apply the artificial tear drop every 1hr as per doctor's advice.
Now i'm typing here with abit of blurry vision lol

Regarding this, did the Dr mentioned to you before the ops that he will under correct one the eye? Cos for me, he suggested to under correct my non-dominant eye. So my right eye is now -0.25 whereas left eye is perfect vision.
Reason is Im in my late thirties so "lao hua" may set in in the near future and then my right eye will be better for the close vision.

I think it was tobradex or pred forte, cant remember. Not Timolol for sure as I remember clearly I was able to use Timolol concurrently with the new drops that is not as strong steroid, plus another drop for reducing the eye pressure.

those who did the lasik, is it really worth doing?

i'm in my early 40s, not wearing any glasses unless reading or driving.
long distance viewing, still ok..
just i can't see things too near..

If you correct for far distances, your near vision will become worse. If you cannot see things that are near, lasik will not be your solution.

In order to correct presbyopia, you need to undergo refractive lens exchange, similar to undergoing a cataract surgery where the natural lens is exchanged with an artificial lens. This procedure also corrects myopia.

Yeah he did mentioned he will undercorrect 1 of my eyes but i forgot what already. Was too nervous haha. Shall ask him again.
So your right eye is your non-dominant eye?
My right eye is my dominant eye and it's more blurry. Seems opposite from yours.

Ah i see. Now i'm prescribed to use Tobradex 4 times per day so far effect on and off. Hope it's all normal =/

If in doubt about anything, call them. Or if really wondering the vision you are experiencing is normal or not, make an appointment. Any doc from EEC is good. At least them run some checks. Only have 1 pair of eyes. Don't stinge on the consultation fees.

Told the doctor that my vision is still blur during post one week consultation. He said to continue putting the drops until the post one month review.

But because I heard many ppl saying their vision is good right after the op or even within post one week op. I'm getting quite worried.

Am not sure whether my vision is considered hazy?
But it's kind of blurry. And I find it difficult to focus on specific objects/words. Night vision is not that great as well. Feels like the lights are bright. Maybe thats what they call glare? But yes in summary, it's been 10 days and vision is not too good.

Is this somewhat your experience as well?
Thanks.

Yes i get what you mean.

First of all, not everyone recovers the same rate. I also read about some people having perfect vision the day after ops and never had hazy or blurry vision at all. I think they may be those never did CXL?

For you, rest well and follow ur Dr’s instructions on the drops. If from now till your next appointment, if you feel anything that is not normal or it’s affecting you to a huge extent, call them and request to see the doc asap. In between my scheduled appointments, I think I had made at least 3-4 unscheduled “last minute” appointments for various reasons. Yes you will spend more but at least you are getting professional advices and not scaring yourself with internet articles.

For the night vision, I still cannot say mine is back to normal as driving in the night is still a little scary for me i.e headlights from opposite cars too bright etc

I heard the ghosting/glare will take a while.

If its any consolation, it’s supposed to take up to 6-12 months to be “normal”. Dont stress yourself too much and overthinking stuff :)

Don't mention it. I too was at a loss like you and it certainly didn't help when further "research" on the internet only bring up MORE horror stories. Don't read too much online, thats all I can say. Cos most people only complain about their bad reviews online and the good reviews, they are happily enjoying their lives and didn't whine about anything.

I was also quite worried back then but let your eyes take its time to heal. Eat well, rest well. I do find fish oil and eye supplements to be helpful...
