Hi guys, i went for lasik eye assessment but was told I’m not suitable and was recommend ICL at $7800 per eye. Any other good clinic that’s good with lower charges?

I would advise heading somewhere else to get another assessment of the cataract and if surgery is really indicated before deciding next course of action.
Okay thanks, i will try SNEC with Dr Rosman. Maybe public hospital will be less money related?

You can dig the thread - not much difference in price as Lasik etc is a elective cosmetic surgery and you can't get or use subsidies or medisave (unless the difference between eyes is very high)

If anyone needs a code for Dr Lynn Yeo for ICL please PM me, if you post here I won't know if you have found it or not as I don't check this often.

If I'm not wrong, you don't have to find a referral by Dr Yeo to get the discount, you just need ANY referral from EEC.
Hi can I have the referral code for Dr Lynn? Thank you!

Update so far for my wife who did trans PRK on Monday. Day 3 so far so good. no pain and minor discomfort. Was able to use her phone (yes i nagged at her about it) and watched a bit of TV on lowest brightness. Doc said her eyes are healing well and will go for another appt on Day 5 and will take out the bandage contact lenses next Monday (1 week after surgery. We are both taking omega 3 with vitamin A & D to help with the healing process even though the doctor said its not necessary.

Did the Dr mention how long must you wear sunglasses when outdoors after everything heals? Say like 1 year later is there still a need to wear sunglasses on cloudy days or only at the beach and places with direct sunlight? Am considering transPRK too!

Can I check how long did you have to wait for the appointment after the first evaluation?
Was planning to do but need to know the time frame for booking the surgery appointment.

He mentioned 2-3 months if I remember. Obviously he would err on the side of caution but the main fear is potential damage from UV rays. As long u don't go to the beach between 11-3 and stare at the sun, it should be fine. Its good eye care to wear shades when the UV rays are stronger regardless of lasik or not.

It was about a week for my wife as luckily there was a slot that opened up. For me I have to wait about 3 weeks. I suggest going for evaluation earlier as you would have more choices for surgery dates. For now, the next surgery is probably early Jan 2022.

Oh great thanks! Also after the surgery, it probably take about a week before you could resume normal activities right? Like going outside.

It varies for everyone but my wife was able to go out and even attend a lunch time wedding yesterday. You need to go for follow up checkup at the doctor on the 3rd and 5th day anyway.
