Lasik eye Surgery

Went to Atlas Eye for my LASIK assessment with the intention of doing SMILE, as it seems that Dr David Chan is one of the good ones for SMILE. Gravitated towards SMILE as it seems like the "best of both worlds" (short recovery and bladeless/flapless) after doing preliminary research.

However, after consultation with Dr. Chan, he recommended I do Trans-PRK (Epi-lasik) due to my low degree. Everything was great, staff was professional, and I'm considering proceeding with Dr Chan for Trans-PRK per his recommendation, my only concern is that it seems like people only go to him for SMILE only and I haven't heard many accounts/reviews of Dr Chan performing Trans-PRK on patients.

Was wondering if anyone else did Trans PRK under Dr Chan; and how was the experience like?

If I recall Dr Chan does not have the all in one laser machine so it will be alcohol then use something to remove epithelium. Can try Shinagawa or Clearvision for the all in one laser machine.

Upon doing some research I figured my cornea thickness is two standard deviations below the average. I have decided to stick with my glasses and not go for a second opinion. Hopefully the technology will improve one day.

Doctor Ho and girls in the clinic not pushy unlike the 2nd one, he is transparent about the results, ensures that the cornea left is within the safe range (380mm). Not doing yet, eye degree has not stabaliZed. If I were to do, will go back to dr Ho clearvision

Went for lasik around 2005. That time was about $2k for both eyes at a clinic at Paragon. Procedure was ok. Only one part where the knife cut my cornea and I saw blood. The doctor told me that one of the vessel was cut during that time. But the nurses uses eye drop to let the blood flow away. Next was the laser beaming into my eyes. Can smell the burn of the laser. The only uncomfortable part is when they insert the eye opener thing.

Other than that, mine was the few percentage of the side effect of lasik. Halos, night blindness, cannot see things closeup if not my vision will be blur.

Actually, I'm thinking whether to go Shinagawa Eye Centre or EEC.

But reading the reviews, why only Dr Julian Theng is always mentioned. but his appointment is so far away.
