Hi guys, went for RelexSmile over the weekend. Very pleasant experience. very fast procedure and now no need specs. just need to spend some time putting eye drops every hourly, 4hrly. I think the worst part of the whole thing was not being able to wash my hair/bathe for 48hrs. Didnt tear as much as I thought. Doctor help to put a bandage contact which i think really help the comfort a lot.
PM me for referral, got discount for you

Hello All, decided to register an account after observing this thread since April this year and like to share my personal experience as I went for 3 diff consultations, have diff reviews and hence still havent even done my lasik! All my consultations were done in April =x

1) went for consultation at shinagawa with Dr Lee after also reading about his positive reviews here... had to refrain wearing my soft contact lens 3 days prior the consultation. Actual day the staff there very friendly and attended to all my noob questions + very comprehensive eye tests maybe like 8 machines to go through haha... he said i have slightly thinner than average corneal thickness abt 518microns and i fall into a small % grp of people who have slight risk of post-lasik ectasia =(

He said i can still do the surgery but have to do corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) hence its the Lasik Xtra option where it is more ex than the usual, total about $5.5K!

So far ive not seen anyone mentioned they have ectasia or require cross linking though... really sad to have fallen into that small % grp even though Dr Lee gave me green light to proceed.

2) 2nd consultation was at Dr Natasha Lim Eye Centre at Royal square (very little reviews abt Dr Lim in here but my sister had done her surgery with her 8 years ago with positive review and so i went)

2 distinct differences Ive experienced here. First, when i called to make appt, the staff told me its not necessary to refrain from wearing soft contact lens up till the day before my consultation. (other clinics all asked to refrain at least 3 days before). Second, I only had to go through only 4 machines for the eye-tests.

Here is the surprising results from Dr Lim - she said im a perfect candidate for standard lasik as my cornea is thick enough (i forgot to ask her whats my microns) and there is nothing else she can say to me because my surgery is gonna be very straightforward. I showed her Shinagawa's test results and asked her:
i) why is there no need for me to refrain wearing contact lens 3 days before seeing you? She said wearing or not does not matter actually. In fact, by wearing my contact lens up till the day before my consultation and my results can still show my cornea is thick enough, it means to say if i refrain at least for 3 days prior, wouldnt my cornea be even thicker than?
ii) why do i go through only 4 machines here but 8 machines at other? She said going through more machines doesnt mean the results will be more accurate. Its still the skill of your doctor.

Dr Lim recommended me to do Standard-Guided option. Cost abt $4.4K

3) 3rd consultation at The Lasik Surgery Clinic at Paragon with Dr Mark. Same no. of machines to go through like Shinagawa; had to refrain 3 days of contact lens prior too... Also about similar comments with Dr Lee from Shinagawa where i have below than average cornea thickness but still can proceed with lasik with cross linking option. Recommended to do Lasik Bladeless Standard + Xtra option at cost of $4.5K...

Only difference between the 2 docs, Dr Mark and Dr Lee (Shinagawa) is that someone posted in here before that Dr Mark got kena 2 lawsuits before for operating on unsuitable patients abt 8yrs ago =x

So thats my experience guys... Im thinking to go for 2 more other consultations perhaps at Clear vision and SNEC to know if i have thick enough cornea or not... 2 vs 1 said I have abit thin cornea but still want to operate me.... i may just go for shinagawa hence, can some kind soul share with me your referral code please?

I had lasik surgery done with Dr Natasha Lim eye centre earlier this year and I was told to stop wearing my contact lenses 3 days before the consultation and also surgery day. In fact I found it a hassle and asked Dr Lim if it was really necessary and she told me I had to, to ensure the results will be as accurate as possible. It seems like the price that your quotation of $4.4k seems quite different from mine. My total bill for the procedure and medications was only about $3.4K, are you sure you haven’t misprinted?
Btw, I went from >- -10.00 to total spectacle free.

i was given 2 days MC when I did it. but check with your consultation doctor first as i heard differ from places to places.

mine was done at SNEC.

Thanks! I booked mine with dr Lee in Shinagawa. Called to ask ytd, they said can give time off or MC if really need, but I will try to come during weekends as my work very busy..

True to review here, dr Lee is friendly and doesn’t mind to answer my questions. This is quite rare among doctors here. Another reason choosing him is because he’s conservative, I believe for eyes better safe than sorry.

Went for the assessment with clear vision dr Ho was quoted $5.1k for transprk and cxl both eyes. My miyopia is about 600 each side and astig 200 each side and yet dr ho was very confident . I’m thinking of doing it in October after I cleared my ippt

Cleared my ippt. Now I’m starting to wonder is my quote of $5.1k on the high side l.

I think any procedure add cxl also around 4.5-5k++. Depends on whether you comfortable with the clinic and trust the doctor or you feel that you can live without doing it. I would say it was worth it for me but always DYODD. If the doctor add cxl, it is for a reason, best is to clear doubts before doing.

Me too! Thank you in advance!

On a side note, how do u make payment for the surgery? Do u pay all at one go or through installment? Do they allow u to use different cards for making payment?

I sent an inquiry to them and they told me there will be a $200 reduction to total cost if full payment is made.

I just went for evaluation @Shinagawa @ $37+ including the eye drops.

Will be going for the op soon, was told to proceed with Intralase with Amaris.

Was advised 5% chance of regression, be prepared for dry eyes etc.

Astigmatism makes the success rate a little more complicated, from what I understand.

BTW anyone able to share a referral name with phone number for Shinagawa?

Thank you in advance!

I just went for the eye assessment and Dr said I could do lasik, but cross-linking is a must due to high astigmatism and high degree- 250 for astigmatism and 650 for degrees. So, the total add up bill is about 5k.
Anyone here did the cross-link with Shinagawa clinic?
