@gabong: to be honest, I would also choose the latest technology over the one that I did, but like you've said, technology will improve and perhaps another corrective surgery method will be found, so it will never end.

Yes. Don't get hung up over how advance the tech will be in the future.
Because you are trading in "freedom and time" now, for a future that will keep changing. So no need to keep chasing the future tech.

Take the plunge now. Enjoy that vision in your 20s/30s.
This is the time of your life, you will be most pro-active and able bodied.

30/40 years down the road, if there is a need, you can join me for post-laser touch up if needed. Hopefully your regression is not very bad, and your vision last a long time like me. 10 years and going strong.

Did lasik at SGH NAtional Eye Centre on 22 August and the vision is still not perfect now. The doctor keep saying everything is on going well and ask me to wait.

I still have problem reading on laptop and books. Anyone have similar problem?

The cost of consultation at SGH is so high although the operation cost is cheaper than private. My friend pay a package sum and get free follow up at private. Now after 3 consultation + eyedrops, the fee is almost same as private.

22 August, still got 1 week to go, of course vision still not perfect

actually private is same, if not better, than government. Private usually have the latest technology and shorter waiting time. The resident doctor/surgeon is always there. In Shinagawa case, he is the boss and has the experience. Which means you are getting the best service. The only thing is money, but it is my eyesight and I don't want to risk it.

lol type wrongly it is 22 July operation

how many times have your gone back for post-op checkup? by 1 week you should be at least 80-90% healed, because that is when your MC is up, if I am not wrong. I had check ups 1 day, 1 week and 1 month after op, all part of the package.

almost going to 1 month, if you have not gone back for checkup lately, you better go book, or else change hospital

I had post check up the day after (free) , 1 week (paid) and 3 weeks later instead of 1 moth (paid) as I have difficult reading clearly on laptop and books. Other activities are ok. I would say 90% better vision now as.

The doctor ask me do eye exercise and give me more eye drop ($77.90).

What is the minimum degree to do enhancement?

Anyone did surgery at Jerry Tan clinic before? and using PerfectShape LASIK or Corneal Wavefront Q-Adjusted LASIK?

Did it really helped to resolve halos and low lighting issues?

I also considering doing this, one of my relatives have this done due to bad glare and halos, he siad everything perfect now. No more halos glare etc. But not sure since he doesnt talk much about it. Anyone hafe this done ?
Here is a bit of info about it...

What if I have poor night vision after LASIK already?
Patients who suffer from night-time glare and halos as a result of previous LASIK surgery may now seek treatment. “PerfectShape™ LASIK” is a powerful tool that can also be used to re-treat patients with post-LASIK night vision problems. Often, such patients have small, decentred optical zones and irregular corneas. The treatment will enlarge and re-centre the optical zone, and ‘regularise’ the cornea into a “PerfectShape™”. The final result is improved night vision and images, which can be seen with better contrast.

Results and side effects varies from person to person....some has a short period of dry eyes (~2 weeks) , some up to 6 mths...some experience prolong period of halos at night but some recover quite fast...to be frank, you only know after the op...even doc also will not exactly know the side effects you may face...
