I'm going for lasik at eagle eye soon.:) Cant wait for the spects-less days again.

Decided on eagle eye after reading up in forums. They seem to have good reviews in terms of doctors skills and customer service.

Your FIRST post and you are selling YOUR services!!
Fat chance anyone will go!!

Has anyone heard of cases where the patient does not have cases of dry eyes, halos, double vision, etc in the first few weeks/months after the op but developed them years after the op?

In my opinion, it's called aging!

On a serious note, it could be anything! DNA, genetics, poor life style...etc.

Apparently the test I did in lsc was with the dilation of my eyes. So they decided to do round 2 of test without dilated eyes. And now it seems, they also rejected me.

what upset was that the doctor was very impatient when I ask him question about my eyes. He just said something like irregular shape of cornea. And he evidently told me he got patient waiting outside.

such is Singapore, I do not agree the fact that you are not going to earn 2-3k from me and such you should get me off your clinic asap. He even told me to take up classes to learn the terms and meaning.

what's the point of being a profession? Say your a doctor, what's your role? To fix something or to generate money? If your in service line, what's your role? To provide good customer experience or to hit your kpi for the day?

it has cone to such pathetic era we live in, humanity is nowhere to be found, even if there is its rare.

Hi there, I also had a bad experience with lsc. Its always best to seek 2nd/3rd opinion especially when it's an irrevsible procedure. If you don't mind the time and money, you can try other clinics which you can find easily on forums.

I went for a lasik talk with lsc and was quite turn off by the doctor's attitude when he was 'presenting' his slides and during the Q&A. I dont see the point of presenting when he was pretty much reading off it. During the Q&A, when i asked him a question which i felt he was unable to answer he replied 'if it works for pilots, it will work for you'. Like WHAT!!! At the end of the talk, they were selling coupons at $1 for their pre-lasik evaluation. I thought it was worth the try, since i had colleagues who had successful lasik surgery here years ago. The doctor's attitude could have been a 1 time thing.

My pre-lasik evaluation with lsc was good, the staffs were polite and told me what the machines do and test for. The lady was very patient despite having to repeat some tests, especially the one which tests for eye pressure. During consultation, the doctor told me even though my eye pressure was on the high side, i can proceed with lasik since my optic nerve was fine. But when i asked him why is my eye pressure higher but still able to proceed with surgery (isnt it a red flag?!), he immediately wrote on a card for me to do proceed with another test. I questioned again, why do i have to do the test now when earlier you gave the green light for lasik? He told me if i want to know more about the eye pressure, i will need to do more tests, otherwise he will not be able to answer me.

What that doctor said was contradicting and made me lose confidence in him as my surgeon (i will have to sign an indemnity form which protects the doctor if things turn bad). When i said i would like to do epi-lasik, he swept off my opinion and insisted that my corneas are thick enough for bladeless without stopping to ask me about my decision.

At least i only lost $1 for the pre-lasik evaluation and half a day.

I noted that my astig had rose using computer testing yesterday..

My spectacle had it on

R - 775 - 325 x 17
L - 775 - 300 x 175

Tested out to be

R - 775 - 450 x 13
L - 750 - 350 x 166

I have never gone for any lasik yet.. Intially I thought that my degree was like 900, and i would qualify for iCL.
However, it seems to be lower however my astig is scary..

Any advise for me whether to go through surgery or just wear spec.

By the way, I am 31 this year..

hi, i am new to this lasik procedure. Can i receive advice from any of you on where do i start?

you can start by reading up more on the net/forums/google first. have a rough idea what is it about, the cost, the different types, preferred surgeon/clinic. shortlist a few and then go down for their seminar or talk and talk to the experts or even the doctor himself to know more about the procedure.

next they should test if you are suitable for lasik and if so, which procedure etc.

Your first advice is to go to page 1 of this thread and read all the Free Personal Experience that many, including myself, have shared.

You will find most of your questions answered in there.

Since you are doing ICL, the contacts are removable.
Just Do It, with a great doctor.

Even if you don't get 6/6 vision, I'm sure they can get you up to 99% better than your current condition.

Also at 31, you still have 30/40 years of active life in front of you!
I would prefer to be active without glasses!

I did lasik accessibility test at TTSH last month and the doctor told me that was rejected by them because he said I had a higher chance of my cornea distorting after lasik due to my irregular cornea shape.

After 1 month, I called ClearVision to check if there are any other options. Like Epi-Lasik etc..

And since it's only $5 for the suitability test, I went ahead to do it and they said there's nothing wrong with my cornea thickness/curvature. Then I went ahead to do the more in-depth one. They also say nothing wrong, suitable for Epi-Lasik.

Can anyone advise me on what to do?
1 doctor say can, another say cannot.
Now wanna do, also very scared.

Maybe go for third opinion? Like SNEC?

I did lasik with Dr. Jon Goh 2years ago.
Now I'm still suffering from effects of cornea erosion.
There is ALWAYS risk.

Hello! Could you elaborate on ur complications? Is it ectasia? Could it be due to ur degree too high and/or cornea too thin? Didnt ur doctor advise u accordingly? (Doctor could be too keen on highlighting the successes and downplay the risks -- bad, unethical doctor with no conscience!) Is there any cure? .

About SNEC / ReLEx vs Collagen Cross-Link (Lasik Xtra)

Hi, had anyone attended SNEC forum? Is there any discounts for attendees? Attending the forum needs $5 and it is quite far away on 29 May.
Because am very interested in ReLEx technique but it is quite expensive; i had already attended few talks and had done the pre-assessment tests. Not sure should i attend the SNEC talk (considering should i just go for the consultation with SNEC doctor)

Anyway, i had already met a doctor who suggested me to do collagen cross-link procedure to strengthen my cornea due to my high degree (700+200 astig; need to cut away a lot), though my cornea thickness is average (540-550 microns). He suggested the same thing to my friend who had low degree(300-400) + thin cornea (490-500 microns). I am quite doubtful as I had never heard of this, not from forum, not from other doctors during their talks. Thus it seems to me not that necessary -- doctor can earn more though, ~$1K. With that price I might as well do ReLEx?

Any comments are welcome! Thanks.

Actually would like to thank all the 'seniors' who had posted here. Very informative and useful in helping me make the decision! Will be posting my own experience soon :)

Good luck with the surgery.

Have you considered contact implants. I posted some info on it in the earlier page.
Go find it. It's great for people who have high degree, and not suitable for normal lasik.
