I am not used to wearing specs and is considering LASIK. Anyone here who has done it before? I am a little skeptical as I was told that it may cause permanent damage and that even double vision for life. Is it true?

LASIK is the most invasive relative to the other eyesight corrective procedures. Risk of damage is always there for any procedure. Best to check with an ophthalmologist and clarify before you proceed.
Alternative solutions are Smile, PRK and ICL but usually costs more. ICL is the best but most expensive.

Source: I did research because I also wanted to do it but ended up chickening out because didn't feel it was necessary.

Done mine 20 years ago . Not much problem come out with perfect Vision from 600 degree both eyes. Now left eye not so clear Liao while right eye still perfect. So both eye open still can see very clearly. No 老花 yet.

i paid 3k sgd for both eyes (inclusive of all testings, meds, consultation etc).
in sg i believed the clinic usually charged by per eye. so depending on which kind of lasik you are doing uh can be 2-3k sgd per eye.

hahahaha, i choose the best and most reputable clinic in Seoul, for a peace of mind :ROFLMAO:
touch down, check in hotel then go surgery liao... purposely choose the hotel just opposite the clinic so after surgery can slowly walk back to the hotel in my 240p vision.. next day wake up 4k vision riao~

If you can afford it consider lens implantation.

There is a school of thought that lasik may complicate future cataract corrective surgery due to thinning of the cornea, and poses problems if future eye conditions like glaucoma develop.

I did lasik 15-16 years ago. Best decision ever.
it didn’t correct 100% sometimes got dry eyes
But still beats wearing specs contact lens any time

Did my lasik over 15 years ago at shinagawa eye center on top floor of wheelock place back then.

Still ok now, everything still clear and good.

The cost of lasik is now < cost of wearing glasses now than its been so long.

Best decision i ever made in my life 20 years ago. Was more than 500 degree per eye last time. Imagine the moment you wake up, 1st thing is reach for the specs last time else everything is blur. I cant imagine going back to this again.

My siblings did lasik some years back. So far no problem. But I heard blurry vision may come back years later.

Is it true ?
