Short term DBS 3 months 3% the best, otherwise Tbills around 3% for 6 months but the rate not known. For 12-month the best out there is RHB. 1-year Tbills hard to get, 4 issues per year only.

How is this perspective? I read this comment recently that says savings a/c more worth it as we can compound (reinvest) interest daily / monthly v/s SSB can only get simple interest every 6 months!


SSB uses simple interest (as the interest
is paid out every six months), while
banks use compound interest. Most people are aware of this, but they sometimes unknowingly make
the mistake of comparing the two
rates directly.

Over 10 years, this is the equivalent
compound interest rate per annum:
2.50% SSB = 2.26% Bank Rates
3.00% SSB = 2.66% Bank Rates
3.47% SSB = 3.02% Bank Rates

This is a ymmv situation, can try to see if they allow to participate with the account and report back 3-4 months later

Worse case don't get the interest for the multiplier rate though. I'd personally not risk it, until someone confirms it works.

The staff told me the bonus interest of 3% will be given for full 3 months with a sum of $750 even though my 100K earmarked will start today and release after 31 Mar. The multiplier BI of 4.1% is also eligible.

Not tested if it would work, would only know when receive it. Keeping fingers crossed, but I did on both my multiplier account and normal account.
