[Latest]Iran has officially qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, the first Asian country to do so in the qualifying rounds

Last time the Asia 3rd place gets to playoff against Oceania team, most of the time was New Zealand, so it was easy. But lately FIFA change the format and the Asia 3rd place gets to playoff against South America team, and most likely is very difficult due to their superiority.

bo bian or suay depending on how u look at it
Asian side (winner of A3 vs B3) to take on Conmebol (as things stand, it's Colombia).
Concacaf (4th place team whh currently is Panama) vs Oceania Zone winner (likely New Zealand)

Asia traditionally don't do well agst Conmebol (take away the likes of Iran, Korea, Japan and Australia plus Saudi Arabia, pretty much AFC side not much of chance on paper)

last time when its in 2legged format, very tense and nail biting
given the covid restrictions, and to clear the backlog of fixtures
Oceania Zone playoff will be held as a mini group tournament in Qatar or something
Winner of the mini tournament will take on Concacaf 4th place team

also becos of covid, they scrap away the 2-legged format for the playoffs
do it one-off match in June in Qatar

if it had been 2-legged tie, the big turning point would have been the big stadiums or even the high altitudes tt the countries have leveraged on for huge psychological advantage
