Looks like a cool single board computer.

I remember they had an atom based board. However cant easily install Linux as the atom boot loader kinda restrictive... This new one much more powerful, larger and more expensive.

Somehow I am not that interested in x86/x64 based single board computer like Udoo x86/Bolt or the LattePanda since to me they are just another PC. RK3399 based SBC seems to be quite powerful and more in line with the maker things but I have not decided to get one yet. Hopefully there will be cheaper and yet powerful ARM boards coming out to at least be able to build the kernel or some big apps fast enough without using a PC to cross compile.

Arm based boards appart form the raspberry pi seem to require a specific kernel that is sometimes even depreciated in order to even function.

Maybe that's has change from the time I was using my oragnge pi that required a 3.x kernel from what I remember.

X86 boards are usually compatible but lacks the charm of an arm board

That sounds complicated... I stick to the raspberry pi until I get more pro

Yes the boards may have to use legacy 3.x kernel (usually Android kernel) to get full functionality like HW graphics acceleration. Things are getting quite a bit better now if you are not into things which needs HW graphics acceleration like Video playing (cheap AMlogic S905W/S912 based Android TV box excels there), then mainline kernel like 4.14/4.16/4.18 can be used. Armbian 5.60 are now mainly on 4.1x kernel and supports Debian Stretch (9) and Ubuntu Bionic (18.04). But Raspberry Pi still has the best software support.

There is a reverse engineering effort going on for GPU drivers for certain allwinner CPUs. Hopefully when its done I can dig my orange pi out of storage to use again
